When I read the other day of a member preparing to 'winterise' his bike, I realised that our summer season is drawing to a close. That made me wonder: Should I have taken extra opportunities for a ride? Anyone else feel that they should have made more of the season? (I will add that I still ride on fine winter's days - but not wet ones)
I ride all year, so I don't worry about winterising the bikes. That being said, I wish I had made more track days on the SP and the BMW. I may sell both of them this winter and buy an HP4...lol
Same as spygoat I'm out all year but still doesn't stop me thinking I could have squeezed a bit more summer riding in as the season comes to an end...I don't think I could bear not riding a bike for several months it'd send me mental
I usually won't go out in under 20 degree weather (-6 for you lot), but i do make it a point to get on a bike at least once a week in the off season, regardless of the temperature.
I think I have done enough but I did miss out on one day that I really should of done, all because I didn’t wear my goggles and haven’t got a e-seat
Bloody naysayers, plenty of time left. Will be off for my bacon butty in Mablethorpe on the weekend! Early-ish start and back for most of qualifying.
It has to be over 15 deg c that's about two shillings in deg f, also no road salt I have tasted the road before to make sure no salt ( just hope no one has pee'd at the edge ) But Friday looks good so I will be out then
Phew glad someone else does that salt licking thing too...I've licked the tyres as well sometimes when I've thought the salts been washed away but they look suspiciously grey when I stop
Aye. Same here. Exactly the same as the year before. And the year before that. If I'm honest, it's barely worth me having a bike. Everytime I've had the opportunity to go ride I just can't be bothered getting all leathered-up. There are other things I'd rather be doing. It's hard to justify having the bike, really, but I know if I sell it the wife will turn it into a bathroom or a horse And I'm sure that the moment it goes I'll want to go ride again.
Another problem with winter is that most of your 'sporty' bike type buddies aren't out....but the dreaded 'braces' lot on their assorted adventure type bikes are
If they give you some beemer braces in with the package can I suggest you thrash the salesman hard with them before strangling the manager
I take it you've never been waylaid by a 'big bracer' Why do you think they give you plastic forks at the biker cafes....
Stop it, i'm getting funny looks as I adjust my braces, ahahahaha Only joking...I have been called a "fatist" before so you could guess I don't have them. (Oh and yes I can spell it is not supposed to be fascist)
