Had a great spin but chilly at 8am so a bit of mode 2 action comfort of TC at level 5 the supercorsa don't enjoy single temps then once some heat in them and the sun starting to go up in double temps mode 1 across the rest of the run and back home....hope holiday going well ...mates have just loaded up vans with bikes in they drive over to France the park up and hoon about the twisties...
Definitely a bit chilly at 8am but warmed up nicely ad the ride progressed and the heated grips earnt their cost. Bit of a funny mood so rode to coast, turned round and came home. Great day to be out though, cleared the brain and blew out some metaphorical cobwebs. Don't think it will be the last ride of the year but it will probably be the last one to the coast, and if it is then it was a good one.
another ridiculous question, my chain is almost adjusted fully on the mark, so was going to get a new chain, but someone at work said id have to change both sprockets at the same time, is this right?
It's always advisable to change as a set. Not too expensive for a pair of sprockets anyway. I've a set going on next week.
look to be about £200 it will last while winter, which is when im planning to do all this sort of stuff any recommendations on them? was thinking of getting one of the DID ones, but mostly because they look shiny lol
Yep. The sprockets wear with the chain. New chain with old sprockets will deteriorate quicker as it's running on the worn sprockets. I use tsubaki chain with supersprox rear and renthal front. Cant go wrong with all the top brands DID Renthal etc...
@blink , maybe get someone to have a look when you're next in Matlock because it might be possible that there's heaps of life left with only minimal adjustment remaining. With the greatest respect, it's not as if you're really hammering the bike, so it's possible there's a good 5 or more thousand miles left in it.
well, i have done 5000 miles and adjusted it about the amount thats left to adjust now, so ur probably right and there is another 5k in it
Sunday’s in Italy must be the day for the boys to get out their toys (same as the uk I suppose) - there are a lot less scooters and dross cars on the roads. The majority of those out are on big Duc’s or convertible sports cars soaking up the rays. Some jap stuff but not a lot. Best of all are the near showroom level original Fiat 500’s that go round in little swarms. maybe there is a meet on but they look the dogs dangles
home now, waiting for a beer fridge to be delivered. nice ride out earlier, seemed really busy, and the bike got some attention at a cafe, which always makes me smile
Egged on by some posts on a Fireblade group on FB I decided to do the 'easy' job of removing the pillion footpegs on my RR6. I was soon reminded why I should never touch tools. Gear lever side was easy enough, two bolts and it's sorted. Undid the two bolts on the brake lever side, only to find there's a piece of plastic partially bolted to the footpeg which hides a heat shield and if I remove the peg it's loose. So currently I have just one pillion footpeg attached Any ideas?
