There you go Lozzy https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/283292539824
I was going to put a disagree Lozzy but I know how everyone gets het up about disagrees and downvotes I think you have a lovely ars@
All part of the fun being on here, haha what are they like?? Surely from perseverance alone @bazzashadow must have slightly more than a snowballs chance in hell? Unless they are married already
Am I being out of order if I comment on people wearing knee sliders when the sliders have not even the smallest scrape on them? I mean, are they pretentious, or merely hoping that one day they'll scrape the deck? To me, it's like those people who choose to wear sunglasses on the dullest winter day. WTF?
Well I always leave my sliders on....but doesn't mean I don't get my bike right lent over for fun...just means I don't adapt the position and knee out to touch down.. Same could be said for buying trick one pieces and £700 lids when you don't do track days...it's part of the joy and fun of the whole bike thing...and belonging to that tribe if that's what you enjoy... I always put a retro leather and jeans on to ride the LC and I've hoodies and textiles for other bike types...there's no real 'need' for it....other than I can so I do & I love it
Not sure if you're referring to the Di photo @nigelrb but 2 of the guys are in their 70's and one works for Ron H and both could leave me for standing on their sportsbikes if they wanted....unblemished sliders or not As for Di's....well I'm not sure any of the guys on here had actually noticed hers yet
Yes, 'twas that pic. I would never comment upon, or criticise the riding ability of anyone. They'd probably blow me to the weeds also. For me, if I were to wear unblemished sliders, I'd just feel as if there would be behind my back comments of who the frig does he think he is. Fully accept and understand your point though of 'the joy and fun of the whole bike thing'. Thinking along the same lines, I guess I could be labelled 'pretentious' for wearing a Repsol jacket on a couple of my bikes. Back to the old, 'to each their own' I guess.
Ah, now you mention it!! I have seen a guy at a local bike shop wearing sliders scraped - but the direction is all wrong. I think he'd either hand-scraped them along his footpath or taken a file to them:
Well Nige, most leathers come with them for a start, so leaving them on there(for me at least) wouldn’t give me cause for derision of someone’s abilities. Next is the question of how hard you need to ride on the road to get them down in a normal riding situation and not with track time. My RH puck is ground to feck but my LH only has minor marking as I personally find it harder to get my left knee down as there aren’t many left hand sweepers where you can accomplish this, and TBH when I have had my RH knee down, it hasn’t been through normal riding but making a concerted effort to try to impress/take the piss out of my mates! By BIL thinks it looks ace but in the past I’ve been hanging off searching for the tarmac with my knee and a much older mate has gone up the inside of me to show me up!
