I've seen quite a few car ads where a buyer has offered ridiculous money. The seller arranges to meet, gives them an address & it's either a mental hospital or a comedy club. When the buyer calls, the seller then instructs them to either check themselves in, or get up on the stage & repeat their joke!
Another strange anomaly with eBay is the guy who will message an offer of, say, £500 below the asking price, but asks no questions about the bike, its history, or the prospect of viewing. I, and I think most other serious buyers, would always have a question to ask, if only to suss out the 'mentality/genuineness' of the seller. In my case, I decline the offer but counter it - only to hear nothing back. Perhaps they are merely opportunists, or dealers seeing the prospect of big profits.
Or bored time wasters with nothing better to do like those on facebook who ask "is this still available" for you to reply yes and never hear from them again
I'm holding out for the 954 @nigelrb....... And I'd hope to be approached privately before it gets offered to Joe Public! Good luck with the sale...... Someone's getting a minter..... Again!
Thanks Paul, but you'll probably have another three little paulos and paulines by then. The 954 is a keeper and currently SORN. If anything came to the crunch, the 929 would have to go, and THAT is a problem I might face if the 2020 Blade is any good. The alternative is keeping the 929 under plastic outside, which as most know is not the best way to preserve a bike. Anyway, just so you keep it in mind, I'll give you some pressies!!
Just revisiting this as I've been frigging around with eBay and can't list as a 'classified'. I get the format for only Fixed Price or Auction. Been into the help menu etc, but still can't convert to classified. Anyone know if 'classified' is only for business sellers? Nothing really definitive on eBay help. Cheers.
When you get to the bit that says auction buy it now the drop down box should give the option to chose classified ad??
I am on desktop, but don't really think I'm a simpleton. Then again, hmm, just got it sorted. Might have been a glitch before but now up and running. Thanks. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174049747148
I'd usually do anything to help a fellow member, but you will note that it's promised to @PauloHRC . However, I did see this yesterday: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-HON...896788?hash=item26285c5454:g:LkAAAOSw7UBdkiTm
I also see that and got excited but his immaculate is different to my immaculate how can you say that and then look at the last 4 pics I have this to clean up again it was described as immaculate I would say 6.5/7 out of 10
Not having the service book with it is the biggest issue with that bike in my opinion. If he had that I bet it would sell very quickly.
