Not many have a British work force. Most places round here seem to just employ the cheapest available workforce, and that normally isn't the British one.

Yes, but you can't underestimate what effect our unions have on UK factories.

I'm old enough to remember when the 3 day week meant my Dad struggled to feed us, the power cuts plunging the country into darkness foring us to use candles, and the bins going uncollected for weeks on end. Oh what joys we had in the early 70s when the unions tried to exert political pressure, ironically against Labour governments.

Never been in a union and probably never will be because as far as I see they are basically political parties by other names and are far removed from the organisations they were when they first arose.

Triumph on social media are inviting people to put a deposit down at their local dealership for the new daytona. Guessing they aren't all sold out after all. Reckon there will be some more minds made up at the NEC.

    Sorry, I couldn’t pay £15k for a 600 class bike. The 2020 MT10 is still only £11800 and

The thing is if it were being bought purely as a collector piece then you’d need to keep the miles off it so as a keen biker why buy it. I’d rather be riding it.

And another £1500 on top of that gets you an R1, but that's not the point for me. You don't need to be sorry, clearly the bike & price combination doesn't appeal to you nor many others here. It's definitely not a bargain, but it's not ridiculous either. So I'm still planning to get mine.

I'll be riding mine and hopefully enjoying every bump, rut, pot hole and loose gravel corner that our wonderful UK roads have to offer. I'll probably try and only ride it in the dry though. You should see the state of my blade after the last week of commuting in the monsoon downpours... I now have Victory grey rather than red. :(

I suspect I won't be doing many more miles than that per year either, as I can't see myself commuting on it - it'll be a purely for leisure machine!

Believe me, my quote will make you roll around laughing.. Mine was reasonable until I mentioned commuting to central London and >7K miles per year. Then it headed north of your SP2 price. Hang on, 67 bikes?! I'd read that as a few bikes on 67 plates, but OMG @nigelrb !!

I’d say he meant to type 6 or 7?

@nigelrb I guess you've seen this: review of the new Street Triple RS? Seems like a lot of bike for £10K to me - I wonder if I could bolt on the Daytona fairings? (Just kidding, really..).

Don't forget the 5 bhp extra too ;)
I'm having stuff done in the house over the next few weekends so little chance to get to Carl Rosner to have a look if they have an RS in.. So will be interested to know what you think. I'm still miffed that Triumph haven't done something with the front of the Daytona that's more in keeping with the Moto 2 bike (and includes LED headlights) - but we've been there, so I won't mention it again :)oops: apart from now).
