I mean it's not their fault the pound is fluctuating so much at the moment. It could have worked the other way in where they would be a tenner better off, but we wouldn't be expecting them to send them the tenner.
Playing devils advocate, would they give a higher refund if the EUR to GBP exchange rate went the opposite way? Or do they by policy have a refund exchange calculation lesser than their normal business service rate...
It won't be the company that processes it, they will process €250 (for example) , then when your bank converts it, that's when it gets corrected to the exchange rate.
The problem is not with the supplier who sell with currency (€ in this case). Visa card uses visa exchange rate for conversion (£>€) and back. Like all foreign currencie exchanges, sell rate is different to buy rate. So this would reduce the amount you convert back into £. If the currency also fluctuates in the meatime, it can b a double hit. I just assumed the card exchange rates is the same in either direction. My fault! Some sellers charge you in your currency and absorb the fluctuations. So just be careful out there
