I read in one of the mags that the 2019 Honda MotoGP bike now has the air intake going through the headstock, into the airbox, rather than being routed round either side. So the new Fireblade could have followed that example and have a central air intake like in the picture. edit; Honda routed the air intake through the headstock to help increase power - as evidenced by the new RCV being more powerful than last year's MotoGP bike. So if the new Fireblade has the air intake routed through the headstock it will potentially be a more powerful bike - otherwise why bother.
That's because as 'active aerodynamics they're retracted until opened by sensor at a predetermined speed. Also, with most of Bradl's tests, we see him with his number '6'.
It's a damn good bike for 21,999. Not sure what the wait period is. I tried to find out via the online ordering system, but delivery date will only be confirmed after 'closure of the contract'. I'm keen, but will be patient for this elusive 2020 Blade. @Wozza , do you know someone who bought one?
Hi N yes my mate bought the last R1m late June and does track days only on it went to the open evening to see the R1m carbon black coming out and really liked it but then thought price to change would be to great but the dealer made it just 1700 to trade up as it were,...then couple of wks back invited to track event to ride one bike due late November.....they do look trick however like you I am awaiting To see what Honda offers ...also would have to ride a R1m before deciding ...I don't think they have sold all the numbers maybe ride standard then make mind up time...no rush as I am really enjoying sp...could be tempted into a v4s but realiabity puts me off plus it doesn't stand out from the standard v4
Came very close to ordering the 2020 R1M, but the deal was £3k less on the 1299, plus they wanted a extra £6k deposit and it was still £50 per month more than the SP2. Dealer reckon delivery would have been April May next year, or if I was lucky September for one of the first batches that were supposedly available.
Yeah, that's what I was trying to establish - the wait time. Seems extraordinarily long, but I understand they're essentially only produced in one annual run.
Mate on hols at the min will ask him for a update when he gets back last time we spoke his was late November however he did order on day 1 when online was open...
Still no response at 4.00 pm from dealer so I emailed another local one and received a phone call within 5 minutes. Now that's service! Turns out delivery would be early December if I ordered now. Will still hold out for the Blade though.
I thought they were still available.i think for those that have the last r1m not a massive step on however if you were switching to the brand worth having .. I would still have to have a spin on one bought a r6 once just had it delivered new it went within the month...
After listening to Yamahas, I'm wondering if this new Blade has the Yamaha firing order of 270° - 180° - 90° - 180° . It just seems to sound so different.
