Well if it comes out in that paint job it'll keep my SP relevant for a couple more years! Not sure about the trellis type subframe...... Love the front end, Its a real beauty no doubt about it but..... I still think the R1 is nicer
I hate to say it but; if I had the money the R1M May just pinch it. I would imagine the SP will be more money than the R1M and probably not worth the extra. but who knows; by the time I’ll be able to afford either and put my money where my mouth is it could be a very different kettle of fish. in any case, I hope it lives upto the hype - @nigelrb will have to let us know when he’s taken delivery of his bike now the deposits been paid
Well, I came back online just a few minutes ago and was floored to see all this stuff. Not sure what I think at the moment. It does look a bit chunky and bitzy as in no smooth lines. As Paulo alludes above, the colour scheme is good. R1 defo has cleaner lines, but a Honda is always a Honda. Will look to see it in the flesh (hopefully) at NEC. Then again, I could just get suckered in and offer my RR4 as a P/X. Edited to say: Don't like the rear mudguard shroud thing, and not keen on the black frame of the SP.
That is a really good angle to view it from - looks a bit muscular, great colour scheme in HRC colours. Likely out of my price range and more likely to be competing with the high end Ducati V4 They have done a good job of the exhaust as well - no huge visible box Not going to believe MCN review, nor 44 Teeth for that matter either - lets see what Mr Rutter thinks of it after he has given it a spanking
What's with the twin feed to the can? Interesting to see both models with an Akra, even if it is more Trident than Scud sized.
Am I the only one who thinks the front is absolutely fugly,it’s not too bad from the side and it’s not a V4 either a bit disappointed to be honest
Reported as being smaller than the outgoing blade...... That's one thing I hoped it wasn't going to be Also looks like the now defunct Cbr 600rr at the front end..... I'm not feeling it up to now. I hope it can win races though.
I have to say I'm not immediately in love with it. Front lights very 600rr like, rear doesn't appeal either. Side profile looks great. I reckon it will be one of those that doesn't show well in pics but in the flesh will be a winner.
Bad news for the taller or larger riders out there in one of the pics if that's MM93 on it .....its smaller....like the front end and the tank but same as N don't like the black swingarm and the exhaust goes on forever.....lean angle on dash is overdone just a gimmick if you've got time to look at that your not going quick enough I am the type that will go chasing it until it goes belly up.....will have a ride on one but not busting for one ...price will be interesting....if me re than 20k for sp no chance at least it's not got carbon wheels!
That would bring about a major disparity in the market though. Sure, we're taking stabs in the dark here, but when the rec retail of the R1M is 21,999, I don't think Honda would do itself any favours by making the standard Blade around 20K. I wouldn't pay 20K for standard, but might be prepared to pay up to 17K - if I wanted standard. If the SP is way beyond 21,999, Honda will lose me for sure.
