That Aprilia is just too busy, colours are awful and I'm not a fan of the dual silver/black frame/subframe/swingarm combo

Yep, way too much. Reminds me of the schoolkid saying that such things look 'Woggy'.

To their credit, they've colour-coded the shocker spring!!:)

Not sure why, but just a bit disappointed with the new CBR, but it is much better looking than the Aprilia!
Then again, at the moment, I'm not a huge fan of any CBR... especially my own!! LOL
I'm just gonna spend the next week on my ultra reliable Ducati... :(

I've just decided that on the new sp I'm out due to the fact you can buy the standard on in the same colour scheme...same exhaust....same wheels etc....a sp version should stand out cosmetically....doesn't matter what it goes like...New R1m carbon black stands out from base model even the BMW and V4s lighter wheels...I feel I could be going back to Red....Itailian also new sp looks really low granted its a full on track back as it states in the blurb....but full head down on the road you have to be going some otherwise you look like you are sat on a mini Moto....

Yes I read that, sounds great but I think they are trying to justify the price which we have predicted will be high

I recall @Lozzy 's source suggesting it (the SP) might be close to £36,000. That's yet to be confirmed, and my dealings with Honda UK today brought me no closer. I got nothing back but a pro-forma courtesy reply so I replied to that giving them a bollocking and reminding them I have 6 Hondas and am recorded on their system as a purchaser of last year's SP2. Not sure if a bit of power playing will work - I'll just wait and see:rolleyes:.

The big issue for me (and I am a cantankerous old bastard!) is that Honda UK is promoting the bike on its own website with a tab to obtain price and to test ride. Both of those links are inoperative. The 'calmer' person will say: 'Give them a chance' but I am not so like minded. If information is put to the public as a sales tool, the information should be complete.

Finally, I applaud @Wozza 's thought process. The standard bike is essentially the same save for Ohlins, Brembos, and as yet unmentioned black levers. So yes, it is looking more and more as if the bike is being 'played up' to attract a higher price. I am rarely negative about Honda, but I have a really bad vibe about this!

I agree with you Manofsteel it just looks a mismash of a bike but sometimes you need to see it in the flesh, wasn't going to the NEC this year but looks like I may have to. Still no price details yet ?

At £20k+ I'd rather have the character and beauty of the Ducati V4. Sure the Honda will be an amazing race bike though.

It will be a deal breaker for probably everyone if they price it at £36k for a SP. They may bring out a SP2 which may be in that region, but even so I still cant see it.

The revised version of the Ducati V4s is the same as the outgoing model, The R1M, ZX10RR, RSV4, S1000RR all about £20k give or take, not to mention the Gixxer at £16K chuck a few grand at that and it will be around 205bhp at the back wheel not the crank..

I'd like to give Honda the benefit of the doubt and believe their primary focus is to build a bike capable of competing in the Superbike classes at national and world level. If that makes for an expensive road bike, so be it. Didn't Ducati do the same thing with the V4?

if it doesn't perform in wsbk and BSB by the end of the summer 0% deals.....etc...will be interesting to see how many they 1st shift judging by the reaction on here it's a mixed bag ....all the reviews will be interesting if it's more than 22k for the sp they are having a laugh..,

That's what I'll be waiting for 0%, Honda will do it at some point, whether it will be a colour scheme change or lack of sale, if it doesn't sell well it will be sooner rather than later..

I think I got a cracking deal on my SP2 £3500 discount & 0% free fitting on all accessories, plus £17k trade in and for my 1299s when everyone else only offered upto around £14k.

I know Nigel quotes the £16k SP2 but effectively it is pre-reg from over 2 years ago.
