hi, Has anyone converted their 17-19 (sp/sp2) blade for track? If so when fitting track fairings after removing headlamp unit and unplugging do you get an engine light? I have but not sure what it’s for? Surely not for lights? Thanks
Have you tried plugging the light unit back in just to make sure it's that? I'm no expert but I can't see unplugging lights throwing up an error an illuminating the engine management light.
I haven’t as I know there was no EML on before. I was told only other thing it could be is a “lean sensor”? Ideally someone has swapped out the fairings before who would know.
You rang Sir? Yeah - the stock Bank Angle Sensor is mounted on the back of the head light. You need to remove it from the headlight and then attach it to the front fairing subframe in the same orientation. What front subframe are you using? The better ones should have a bracket for the Bank Angle Sensor ready to go. Or just ZIP Tie it one one of the front subframe cross members.
My engine light came when I fitted rear sets and the brake light switch was set too tight causing the brake light to on permanently. I was surprised this caused the light to come on but it did.
A mate of mine has just wrapped this the fairings are crc , recently in portimao a guy had Chinese fairings from eBay they looked good also but they keep the headlights in place.
Always good when they run the bull decal over the frame. Truly completes the job rather than some of the half-hearted attempts on some models. Some trick calipers on there. And what's the new throttle set up? Throttle by Bluetooth?
So update.... Fitted the lean sensor back on in a good position and solid mounted. First start up small EML in corner followed by sold EML in middle dash followed by a pic of a front “fork and !” Ran it up in first on stand. Switch off, start again and just small EML in corner, run up to 2nd, left in gear for 5-10mins no their light. Will this have logged a fault that needs clearing now with diagnostics? Thanks
Check the DTC codes that are stored in the dash. You really cant run these bikes on the stand. You pretty much set yourself up for a myriad of phantom issues. These bikes need to be treated like modern cars. The bike will be confused and flumaxed if the rear wheel is turning while the front wheel is stationary. When the bike is started you will notice the dash lights up like a Christmas tree and various lights flash and then either stay solid or turn off. The bike is expecting to be ridden - and as such the first 20ft or 6mph are critical as the bike evaluates the status of front wheel speed sensor, rear wheel speed sensor, speed of counter shaft and ground speed. Once this self check is completed you should see the lights go out if all is well. Since the battery has been disconnected and various sensors removed/added/changed etc I would not dig the hole any deeper until I have actually started and ridden the bike above 10mph and done a number of starts stops and actual ignition cycles. Then once I have determined a specific component is repeatedly posting errors I would try trouble shoot further. The bike simply does not like operating outside of the normal startup parameters.
Wealth of knowledge thank you. I didn’t disconnect battery, only headlight plugs and anything plugged in in that area. Will try riding around at work to see if it goes out
How ironic. ......I watched this video this morning on Instagram. I came across your Instagram profile this morning after reading the comments on the HRC wsbk unveiling........I gave you a follow! Had no idea it was you @RC45 Great job by the way
Thanks mate. I am a sucker for a red Honda lol I watched the live stream WSBK announcement and boy was it typical Honda Corporate. The Japanese announcer was all Honda PR, it reminded me of the 2017 SP2 Raffle Reveal - very choreographed for maximum Honda mileage. Bautista and Leon looked quite awkward being told where to stand, when to smile when to pull back the cloth and then the audience is commanded to "counta downa wis me as we reveerl za newa CBarle tliipple arle - sree tooo wun!" I can imagine they are feeling a tremendous amount of pressure from HRC as even Bautista spent his 45 seconds saying how new the team was and that they had a lot of development to do still and will try really hard to make it a good season. He may already be regretting his jump to Honda.
Well all I'll say its let's hope they have some success with it, someone's get to end the Kawasaki domination...... Ducati nearly did it, Honda need to nip it in the bud!!!
Not so sure really - I think Yamaha and Kawasaki need to hash it out for a few more seasons with HRC eating their dust. I can't lie... I am still bitter about how they treated Ten Kate LOL
I can't lie... I am still bitter about how they treated Ten Kate I hear you. Honda had a certain Mr Rea for 10 years but never quite believed in him enough to give the full support he has since proven he deserved. It took him to get fed up with promises to up sticks and go to kawasaki and the rest they say is history. Honda do have a little bit of history in peeing off some of their best riders but I wont say too much as I have no idea how to run a pro racing team myself.
