Ooh! Another in the Triumph camp! Very nice. I have seen them close up, but only in British Racing Green. You look about 6'2"!!
6ft and shrinking with age, I have had a few triumphs, had the last Thruxton in 2012, always been stuck in the past, my brother had a Vincent black shadow and as a small boy in the 60’s it seems it’s stuck with me.
absolutely gorgeous thruxton mate, love the colour; suits it really well! Hope you have many smiles with it
I had one ordered in 2016 but somehow ended up on something else,I got it brand new pre registered with £2600 of the new price, i have also bought the cafe racer fairing which will be my winter garage tea in hand project.
A friend of mine had one in the 70s. Damn interesting piece of machinery. Still some nice examples around:
My brother had a racing sidecar that he built himself, it had a norton featherbed frame, Vincent engine and hillman Imp suspension, he put the engine back in the Vincent and sold it to a bloke in Ireland for £40 this was the late 60’s before these had the value they command now. He is the the rider with the silver pudding Bowl helmet. The photos are taken on what was Dalgety bays old airfield, long gone. I am actually from Kirkcaldy but funnily enough live in Dalgety bay now just 5 minutes from where these photos were taken.
That’s lovely, sorry hit the dislike by mistake but corrected it. It was so ahead of its time. My brother had two and the comet. If only he had known....
Ooh. So fortunate I was offline when you did that!! Great series of black and whites too. Amazing to see the old plain black leathers again.
Easily done but changing it quickly with the undo option works well as I am very often clicking a few times till my thumb gets the right one ')
Think I might go down the route of the thruxton once my balloon is paid on the sp2, test rode one two years ago liked it but couldn’t have it as my only bike
Same here especially as you can get a nice used one for around 9k will drop more with the new one out ...
You could always go for the Daytona 765! Ooh, no. You'd have to wait for someone to cancel to find one of the rare gems!!
Nup. Not until about 2025. These things will be so precious that if any do change hands it will be via word-of-mouth and not through dealers or sales ads.
There will be moto 2 replicas available after the NEC show. It will be some peoples first chance to see it in the flesh and naturally it won't appeal to everyone. Also there will be people that will fall in love with something else instead and cancel their order.
