Yes it would seem it is true....... Whole host of Moto Gp stars on Instagram posting how sad they are to this happening. Respect where it is due though
Massive respect to Lorenzo how hard must that have been but better to retire now than continue on and really hurt yourself or worse, sublime on his day,I remember him coming through woodcote in 2013 sideways flat stick but smooth as silk,a loss to moto gp and five titles says it all
Have thought for a while now how different things might have been if he'd have stayed at Ducati after everything began to come good for him. I doubt his retirement would have come so early but it is what it is! Moto Gp Legend status for sure
As a mark of respect to one of my favourite all time riders I shall also be retiring my Lorenzo replica HJC. She'll remain boxed up as part of my helmet collection or I may build a shrine in my new garage which is near completion, with it being the centre piece!
He'll be back Paulo. I sincerely believe he has unfinished business! Really wouldn't surprise me if Ducati would make a behind-the-scenes offer - subject to contractual restrictions of course.
The cynic may suggest that Lorenzo had retired some time ago I doubt it will be too long before Honda announce their new rider.
Motogp.com have a story about how MM would feel having his brother in the same team, doesn't give much away. Was an interesting bit where he says HRC's options are limited and that other riders have turned down an HRC ride. He doesn't say when the unnamed rider(s) turned down the ride but he did mention the bike being difficult to ride as being one of the reasons. You need to have an account to view it but the free accounts work. https://www.motogp.com/en/videos/20...ld-feel-sharing-a-box-with-his-brother/319121
I agree, it could be career ending being thrown down the road every weekend. How many times has Cal crashed the Honda ? sometimes twice in a single race. You only got to be unlucky on one of those and you will be out for the rest of the season. Look what happened to Lorenzo, the Honda finished him off, had him coming in almost last at times.
No wonder he has different sponsors on his fairings from time to time. I think Givi and Castrol are jack of their names being scraped off. And now Rizoma copped a hiding too!!
How the frig? Do you get priority on all the releases? I'd been searching all afternoon for updates! Look, he has to do better than Lorenzo - with no disrespect to JL99. We know Alex has a long learning curve, but he will have the best tutor available in his brother and we can be sure he'll hold nothing back. And for those of us with BT Sport, testing is on tomorrow and Wednesday, starting, I think, at 8.45 am.
I don't think he would have got it without the family link, but then who else was there who was good enough, willing to ride an unfriendly bike, and ride alongside MM?
I know some people who know some people in the know It's called Instagram He's got it on merit fair and square..... Have to keep reminding myself he's a double world champion...... Just not sure about it and at the same time not too fussed! I just hope Marc leaves at the end of next season......
