... make etc.. I used last year a double trailer which was not very good for holding the bike upright as it only had a small front wheel bracket. As I don't need/use a van what do I need to look for with a trailer? I have space to store one that does not fold? What makes, links etc... can people provide so I can find out more cheers all
Here she is . Picked most of the parts up at an auto jumble . At the time my mum was a secretary at a local engendering firm so I bought all the box section , bar and cheq plate cheap . Not bad for a GNVQ in welding ey ? ok I'll come clean . I had alot of help from my Engineer grandfather Lol All the messy welds underneath are mine thou ha ha
Trelgo and erde are both good mate, as are dave cooper. YOu can fit a bump stop like I have done to mine and then just buy a tyre down (best invention for track day trailers ever) You can load a bike on your own no problem and with the tyre down you don't crank down the suspension so it's easier on the fork seals
i have a single bike trailer .the best thing i bought for it is a "bike wheel chock" (put it in a search on ebay they are about £60 plus post.) i have welded it to the front of my trailer , you simply start the bike up put it in gear and walk the bike into the bike chock. as the bike goes over the pivot point stop the engine ,and the bike is held upright by the front wheel .You can really swing on it without fear of it falling over. you can then let go of the bike and put your ratchet straps on without fear of the bike falling over as you fight with the ratchet straps. it also means that you dont have to get the wife out of bed at 5.30am to hold the bike up whilst you fasten it down. (once broke the wifes finger whilst loading up my trackbike ,she wasnt too happy about it .) but it was ok , it didnt spoil MY day.
i have an erde single bike trailer that is perfect for my needs. has adjustable hoop to secure front wheel good tie down points and is only 60 odd kg empty so easy to carry around if needed to store. only downside is quite narrow axle but still tows stable enough.

I had looked at purchasing one of these when i was thinking track bike, the car was well capable of the job, but XXXXXX would not put their reputation on the line when it came to the ability of the nose weight placed upon their towball, a few engineers at work reckon it would be super simple to fit and easy to adapt if required and reckoned XXXXXX was talking shit, basicly because its not a direct force more a cantilevered effect, anyway, take a look see what you think? Pulling caravans I kno even a large twin axle caravan only puts a maximum of 100kg on the towable and less is better. So even with no fuel putting a 180+kg blade on thatis a no no n my opinion
