Having persuaded a good friend of mine to buy a blade from this forum, https://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/2013-black-non-abs-cbr1000rr.36960/ his brother has now felt the urge to follow suit. He has put a deposit down on this, but I was unsure if they came in this colour scheme. Hadn't seen one before with the gold accents on it. Anyone shed some light?
Almost certainly Chinese or non standard paint.... Also looks like an early ABS model, I'd avoid this one as there is better standard versions available!
Personally I've not seen this colour scheme either but I think @nigelrb might be the man to shine some light on it. It does look to have a fair few mods on it so could have been a custom jobbie?
Thank you gents, it does have a fair few mods on it. Heres the advert: https://www.usedbikeshuntsmotorcycl...fireblade-1000-abs-manchester-201910243649582
Thanks for the confidence in my knowledge, but I too am unable to contribute a definitive answer. However, stimulated by this 'new' colour I set about doing image and spec searches and could find nothing. Usually, something would show up, especially if it were a livery specific to a certain region or country. I agree with you that is it more than likely a good custom job. The graphics do not follow the Honda paint 'template' for this model in that some stripes etc are missing and not consistent with the original template as shown in the comparison pics below. Nevertheless, it is a nice looking bike, well priced for the mileage and condition and not sure why you'd be cautioned to avoid it unless for ABS reasons.
@nigelrb based on non standard fairings and ABS model would put me off buying such a bike...... Would it not you??? Here is my 2009 with 7k miles which I traded in with Hunts in January. Lovely example
Yes, of course it has! To @Abb 's brother as mentioned in initial post. Agree in part. And I know we both have preferences for originality, but also, we have both gone the Chinese fairings route. For some people though, originality plays second fiddle to 'driveway appeal' and that might well have captured the purchasers of this bike.
I should have kept advertising mine as seems like blades are selling like hot mince pies at the minute! Thought I'd hold off till spring.
I’ve been looking everyday mate and to be honest eBay and auto trader hasn’t had much added or sold in that time. I was thinking of holding out until late December/January hoping there would be a few new added as trade ins.
Hi abb, if he’s looking for a decent blade my local dealer has a nice looking one in at the moment. I know it’s a grand more than that other one at Hunts buts it’s 3 years newer, the newer 13 plate spec, non abs, and repsol scheme. At £6995 from a dealer it’s a good one.

Thank you for all your input and advice gents. Just to clarify, he is the brother of a friend (who bought the bike on here) and he has only paid a deposit. However, he has his heart set on it and going to proceed with the purchase as he has got a decent price for his trade in. I must admit, I do like it and it has a fair few trinkets on it (most of which he would have done to whatever he would have bought) so it all stacks up for him.
It won't stack up for him if he ends up paying £300+ a time to get it sorted when the abs fails. That's inbetween buying clean underpants
Do not buy a pre 2017 model with Honda's ABS Do not buy a pre 2017 model with Honda's ABS Do not buy a pre 2017 model with Honda's ABS Do not buy a pre 2017 model with Honda's ABS Do not buy a pre 2017 model with Honda's ABS Do not buy a pre 2017 model with Honda's ABS etc etc etc
I'm more poking fun at myself here mate..... As I'd warned him off the bike having not read the message fully and not realising he had actually bought it
