I have to say you do get looked down on when you enter Ocean BMW in full leathers, but when you go home, change your attire, return in your M5, Hello Sir can I help you with anything and would you like a coffee while you wait !!!! wankers
PWR 1 - here we go ! In the words of Boris from Bike Me TV - enough ponies for someone not wearing sponsorship on their leathers Amazing thing that R1.
I would buy another one for sure. Great all round bike - that is what I miss the all round capability of it. So quick, comfortable, looks ace, quickshifter, sounds great, easy to ride in traffic anywhere and it is a sorted package - it even has a fuel gauge - there is no grief with it. Even the stock versions look great - I would have the blue and black one no sweat. The downside is that it is more hooligan than the R1. It is very prone to being ridden like a hooligan. A mate I know has just traded his for a KTM 790 as he reckoned the MT-10 was too much - I kind of know what he means but not sure that the KTM is the solution ! The MT-10 definitely has its place, but while I can ride a sportsbike - without aches and pains - I would rather have the R1 for now.
Sorry mate but you are wrong, Honda dont employ any agency staff for the shows. The majority are volunteers from all parts of Honda.
I remember that guy he looked like a proper tool..I manage to be alone with the new blade briefly, but It pains me to say it took me to start a conversation with a bald headed tubby guy regarding the bike who was about 10 ft away.. Maybe he didn't want to chat, my attire was full on Ducati..
They guy I spoke to on the stand was from Honda Newcastle. His info. on the bike was from a dealer briefing. As far as I was aware, nobody on the Honda NEC stand had actually ridden the bike so it was all regurgitated information that they were giving to us. I would suspect that it was the first time that most (if not all) on the Honda stand had actually seen the bike was at the NEC.
