No this isn't a Prince Andrew touchy-selfy type question.

I'm just curious as to what people wear for road riding?

I've got a black leather one-piece at the moment but I think it's partly what puts me off riding. Wriggling into it on a hot day just isn't appealing. If it's over a certain temp I'm a ball of sweat by the time I've left the house, once I'm moving it's nice because there's no waist roll like you get with a 2 piece and it's perforated so you get nice airflow but that perforation means that if it's colder it's crap and likewise if it rains.

I've got a narrow window where it seems like the right choice of clothing.

    Any suggestions?

Armoured jeans and an RST textile jacket with vent zips. Underneath I wear some Aldi compression base "tights" under the jeans and depending on the weather I wear UA hit or cold base layer top, sometimes under a t-shirt.

If wrong side of cold I wear EDZ WindShell top and leggings.

I don't think you're far off from what it sounds like you need.
I go perforated 2 piece and if it's cold then just layer up.
If it rains then you're buggered either way.

I still use my 1 piece but yes you're right as in there's only a few days when it's perfect for road riding.
I've tried many different combos of leather 2 pieces and these Furygan jeans I bought a few years ago have been fantastic and by far the best. Because the waist is mostly strong elasticated, they are amazingly comfy to wear. They stay put with no annoying waist issues under my leather or textile jackets. They sit high and expand if you've had a chippy stop! And...no issues of wind etc getting into the gap between jacket and jeans. So no need to zip together if you don't need to.
The leather is so soft they feel like they've already been worn in.
I've also got a super comfy Dainese adventure textile suit...but always feel a bit silly with it on a sportsbike apart from when it's baltic lol

    Thank you all.

@Lozzy you gave me the same advice back in 2016 :D I actually bought a pair of them Furygan Veloce trousers. I remember that they were lovely leather but I ended up returning them I can't remember why though

I think it might've been because I bought a Furygan jacket to zip to them and the jacket was too long and ended up pushing up into the back of my lid.

Aah, that is the worst pain in the butt. Happened with me with an aprilia jacket; collar kept tipping the helmet forward so I had to either keep pushing the lid up or ride with a neck like a friggin' meerkat!!

I wear a full on race suit for spirited riding, it is perforated, but I wear a thermal undersuit in the cold. For casual riding, armoured jeans, jacket and boots.

of course I wear a helmet and gloves...

You just want to get slapped, don't you? I don't fear much, but @Lozzy enraged is one of the things I would steer clear of.

Summer... Dainese perforated 1 piece suit with Nike long sleeve T shirt so leathers don't get stuck to your skin when you get hot
Winter... Wolf 1 piece suit with fleece when it gets cold
My choice is 1 piece leathers for protection and looks.
Alpinestars SMX boots in white, winter and summer (is there any other colour?)
    Alpinestars gloves
