Has anyone found a close alternative off the shelf aerosol car colour that is similar to Pearl Glare White NHB53? I've been on the look out for a good condition 2nd hand white rear fairing for my 2014 bike but they don't come up too often. I've managed to repair my old one using plastic weld, glue and some filler, I've primed the area and now want to give it a bit of paint until I find a repalcement fairing. Paint code is NHB53 which is pearl glare white, rather than pay a small fortune to paint the small area I was trying to find an off the shelf paint (Halfords) that is a close alternative to pearl glare. Has anyone found a close alternative car colour that is similar to Pearl Glare NHB53?
I've used RS and yes, they are pricey for a small patch job. Only a couple of days ago I had to match paint for a solver lower cowling on my VTR. Simply took a piece of the same colour off the bike and walked along the rows of cans in Halfords to match it. They do have an extensive range so I'm sure you'd get pretty damn close!
That's the route I was after, I went to Halfords but couldnt see anything that resembled a pearl white, I was hoping someone on here may have done something similar and let me know what it was (Ie Nissan Juke etc). Anyway I have since found a paint company online that will do both aerosals for £20 delivered, it's a two stage paint.
Sorry slightly OT from the original post but I'd be interested to find the paint codes for the '17 - '19 blades. If I remember the red was changed slightly between these model years.
The 2018 went from 'Winning Red' (in 2017) to 'Victory Red' in 2018. To me they are the same colour, but I could be wrong cos of aging eyesight. Colour code for 2018 SP2 is 'R380X'. The code for yours should be beneath the rear seat cowl.
You're right, I'm not expecting great results as I'm a DIY painter. I was hoping it will sort of do until I can find a secondhand one on e-bay, they are rather difficult to source in pearl glaze.
Just had my white matched up at a car paint company. The match is Ford Frozen white. Company is called Colour Tone in Stockport and they do internet sales of spray cans made up on site. Hope this helps.
