No, thats a V4 street bike. Not even the V4S. Plain Jane base entry level Ducati V4. With a slip-on muffler, stock headers.
Think I’m just over screaming 4’s... This thing has so much low down punch and drive throughout the rev range it’s insane! But still has bags of character. Never had this feeling riding a litre 4 Sad but that’s the truth..... Riding the V4 gives you a massive sense of occasion .... In 38 years of riding I’ve never grinned so much....
My friend went from SP2 to V4 and the bike met our SP2 expectations and then exceeded them as he preps his V4 for club racing. The 1100cc and the rest of the Ducati electronics package is just the right mix of over the top and common sense - and the fact Ducati has pre-programmed fuel maps to match a range of slip on and full exhaust systems AND Ducati fully support and allow updating the ECU to the current version of the ABS/Torque Management programs is fantastic. Honda could really do well to see what Ducati have done and do a similar thing. Did I mention that he paid LESS for the V4 than he did for the SP2? You did very well with the purchase mate, you will be well pleased with it!!!
They pretty much got it bang on. I’m glad I waited for a late bike so they ironed out any warranty niggle issues. Plus I couldn’t deal with the all red version, and wasn’t prepared to pay Speciale money. The Corse model in flesh just looks right. Fuelling is so precise, Not had a great chance to test the electronics but I’ve heard they are top notch. Plus they can even upgrade the software to the new EVO 2 package. Think that’s more track biased though.... Seriously to anyone thinking outside the box go and ride one! I went from the Blade to the 959 and even that transition was fantastic. This will definitely be my last sports bike so I’m going out with a proper bang... Plus I got a great deal
ducati piece of art , but work on them is a PITA , plus reliability is nothing near to a APE or a JAP
Agree with it being a work of art. Yes it’s not that easy to work on! But it’s so well put together and unlike anything else. My 959 was stripped back and modified probably to an extreme but if I’m honest I really enjoyed the process and is much more rewarding to work on because you can see the thought process on how they made certain parts to fit around overs. Really innovating in this day and age. And as for reliability, your always going to hear of some stories just like any other manufacturer. The dealer network is so much better now. I’ve had more issues with Honda dealers over the years so it just depends who your dealing with. Agree it’s not for everyone! All I say is go a ride one and try.....
959 half stripped ... No special tools needed, No trips to the dealers, Nothing new as long as your competent with some spanner’s then it’s no different from any other bike to work on. I’ve ordered so many parts over the last few years and the parts are generally at my door within days.
Dave, wonderful to see. I have missed your bike pictures. Remember that two week a year window that is ok to ride your bike. The one where the salt has gone from the roads and the flies have not quite arrived. Then it’s back on sorn.
I've been thinking along similar lines - wondering whether Honda might keep producing the 2018/19 version alongside the 2020 hot extra 'R' version. From what I can tell from people's reactions on here and the reviews, the new model is more like a track-day machine which will be unrewarding for day-to-day commuting. I really like my current 2017 blade, (even more so at the moment as I have a CB 500F courtesy bike whilst mine is with Honda to sort out a hot-start problem), and think I'm not sure I'd buy the latest 1000 RR-R to replace it, but rather have a 2019 model instead.
It's an accidental press instead of a like...it's easily done....given he liked the ones above and is test riding a couple shortly
