Hi all, After picking up my SP2 last Saturday i couldn’t wait any longer to go out and ride it. Started off on mode1 so i could see how hard the suspension feels on this setting and i must say it felt bloody lovely. I only did dual carriage way miles so road was fairly smooth but wasn’t as hard as i expected. The bike felt lush. I suspect that if i got down a bumpy B road it may be a bit hard but first ride i’m well impressed. What a bike this is, i thought my 2012 was good but this is amazing. One thing i did find a bit stiff was changing down using autoblipper, up shifts were very good and light pedal pressure but down shifting required quite a bit more pressure. I did adjust the QS sensitivity from 2 to 1 for downshifts and it seemed a bit better. Anyone else found this? Exhaust wasn’t as loud as i thought it was going to be but up shifts at around 6k rpm gave a nice crack to the exhaust note which i love. There is a bit of a flat spot i notice around 3k rpm after pulling away but after that it is super smooth. I may put my power commander on it from my 2012 if it will fit and get it set up properly. No issues with missed gears or false neutrals. The gearbox when used with clutch on downshifts felt the same super slick as my 2012, upshifts were the same too. Overall i am well impressed and can’t wait for some better weather. Cheers

Just watched this video of the dash from 2019 SP and traction and wheelie control are separate settings. Is this a 2019 addition or just for America or software update?
What pipe have you got on the bike Stuart? Agree with Nigel that if your gearbox is new it's going to be a bit stiff for a while. Re settings, I've made a user mode that's got the right balance of response and suppleness - a lot of riding around London with speed bumps and potholes but also fine on rides out on B-roads etc. P2 T5 W3 EB1 S3 On/off throttle is v sensitive on P1 on mine, so having it on 2 means I can be a bit sloppier on the wrist without jerking around in traffic like a dick
Can't beat EB1 on fast A roads when you run out of bottle and throttle off it still pulls you round.....just remember to lean not for the faint hearted...
Standard pipe on mine. I did feel it a little jerky on a roundabout but just opened it up a tad more and it cleared. The gearbox was stiff going down, beginning to think if the autoblipper was working or wouldn’t it be possible to change down? The up and down arrow are on the dash.
Following on from my first ride and thinking the down shifts were stiff and autoblipper not working. I got the bike up on a paddock stand today and run it up. I took a video and it didn’t blip the throttle on downshifts. Would have expected it to really. What do you think? Will try to get video uploaded somewhere and shared.
Called my local Honda dealer and they said that it doesn’t actually rev the bike when changing down it just rev matches. Is this true?
Update.... Just got back from a ride ou on it and it is working. I think i was being too much of a pussy with it. I got it in fourth at around 7k and then changed down and it did blip. I think it is because i was changing down too low in the rev range for it to actually blip the throttle. It seemed a bit easier to change down today too. Before i went out i did a factory reset through the dash and i also went on to quickshifter, initialize. This didn’t look to do anything on the dash but maybe it did something. I suppose the downshift is more for track riding really where you would have it further up the rev range. I am happier now and i can put her away until good weather without the salty roads, just had to bloody clean it again.....
Have to love dealers, so what if it needs to up the revs to match them. Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those beyond help become Bike Dealers
You're right you got to be pinning it and it does it I am not tech minded but Like you I would say 7k revs also....glad your happy with it now......
I think I'm right in saying that for the bike to auto blip on downshifts the throttle has to be in the fully closed position
The guy is obviously a fairly quick rider - but what's he doing leaving his index finger over the clutch? Anyone else do that? Am I missing something?!
Probably a habit after riding for a number of years on a bike without a quick shifter ...also good to cover in case gear doesn't engage not that I know much..
It’s a habit from the old two stroke days when an engine could nip up you pulled the clutch in I still have a finger over the clutch still now and I haven’t rode a stroker for years
yeah not sure what that is all about.... That bike sounds soooo nice. Wonder if it’s a slip on or full system.
The front wheel is not turning so all TC, Autoblipper & QS functions are disabled. You can see the huge glowing yellow TC Disabled Warning light This is by design, its not possible to "test" the SC77 on a paddock stand or a dyno for that matter without flashing the front wheel speed sensor out - which still will disable QS, Autoblipper and all TC functionality. This is simple common sense and safe riding - same as covering the front brake. I am more concerned that this is even a surprise to so many folks - indicates to me many current riders are lacking in some basic motorcycle safety and riding skills. You cover the clutch of any clutch equipped vehicle so you can respond to any event that may need a manual clutch application - whether engine seize, chain braking, tyre damage deflation etc.
Always taught to cover the clutch when riding off road, carried over to the road too. This is going to ruffle some feathers!
