Almax and Squire lock always! Very expensive, but so's the bike. But then again, if someone nicked my bike, it would be to clean it and return it back! I use an Oxford disc lock when popping into the shops. Chin
No point spending a fortune on locks n chains ,,,,,,,, they only stop honest people, ,,,,,,,,, cordless grinder with a cutting disc is like a hot knife through butter alarm the garage, ,,,,,,, or keep an angry goose in there
@Mr_Chin_LK if someone was going to nick your bike they'd probably write to you beforehand too ask you to remove all the tatt and headlight lense covers!!!
A long time ago i had my garage broken into whilst i was working nights, when i came home i saw the garage door open and a rope attached to the bike down the drive. due to the price of insurance i only got 6 months and an alarm for winter. If i had not got the alarm they would have taken the bike. I now have multiple alarm systems But I still think best bang for buck at home is high powered security lighting
Get a tracker mate, look at monimoto on sportsbikeshop. If they want it, theyll have it but at least you will know instantly when it moves. Has motion detection and gps straight to your mobile. £150 free for the first two months then £30 covers for you 12 months
If my bike got nicked...... I'd 100% NOT want it back!! God knows what unseen damage it may have, it'd never feel safe again. You'd soon fall out of love with it
I got my RD400 back after it was stolen, I was 3rd party F+T at the time. it only had slight damage so was glad to see it again. most thefts will be to sell on, they will not want to damage it as it will reduce the sell on price. If it is a joy rider that is different
I'm thinking about welding up a steel gate to sit behind the roller door on my workshop. I saw that bar thing on lamb chops but didn't like the price . and whatever people think if the scum want it they will lift it over just a bar. in the 90s my rgv was lifted over my parents volvo . it's a light bike but still hard to lift. I'm in west yorkshire and when bikes are nicked police don't give a shit it's here's your crime number. when my 2 kdx s were nicked I was just told to look on e bay for them and let them know . we sold our mk7 gti as too many get nicked round here. we have a boring Passat now but scum not into nicking them.
My son had his R6 stolen, they lifted it over a 5 foot steel fence, Luckily he got it back and it only had a slight mark on the tail unit. it was in a storage unit and they moved 6 cars to get to his bike,
