Bobbin are just a maintenance job to avoid problems and improve performance, I've previously had brembo discs (only the Oros not HPK or T-drive) so nothing particularly special but the 'floating play' is massive compared to OEM. It is quite noticeable when the discs are locked up so like to keep it nice and free.
Any particular product you use for the bobbins? I am planning to add this to my maintenance to do list to avoid brake judder, etc long term not that I have any such issues on my bike at the moment
Actually did mine yesterday while the callipers were off . Mostly all bilt hamber products. Start off with wurth brake cleaner into the bobbin while turning( using the m8 bolt and nut) Then scrub the disc and carrier with Bilt Hamber autowheels, this will dissolve any remaining brake dust. Rinse off well, then treat with bilt hamber atom mac Disc will need a few light braking application before the are reprimed with a new layer of dust and reach full performance
Been doing some tests on autowheels and other cleaners, it’s really powerful stuff! This stuff in particular, apart from being good on brake dust is a powerful degreaser, and extended contact will react with finishes, I therefore would apply with brush rather than spraying and rinse off very well
Haven't quite finished my big degreaser test but see the results for BH Autofwheels. Haven't got the results for 10mins of soaking yet, but after 12h contact all greases are diminished but also the the finish on the bolt is clearly affected
no sure to be honest, they’re definitely steel maybe but plated, zinc or nickel perhap, they were light gold to begin with
