Hi guys, Just wondering g if anyone has ordered one of these from Japan and what's the fitting like and colour match. I had a chinese one on 600rr and it was really good for £20. https://www.ebay.com/itm/273838535000
I got a genuine one myself, but have seen these on another bike. looked pretty good. I'd probs have got one if id seen it as I had my whole bike painted up.
People don’t sell them on very often, and if they do they are snapped up quick. I got mine second hand for £100 give or take. A lot of people go with the Chinese ones for this reason, you have to ask yourself with the cost of having it painted (assuming you’re going to pay a body shop to do it) is it worth it or is it worth stumping up the extra for a OEM one that will have not only more resale value but also more interested parties?
The Japanese one I was looking at was in the red I wanted to match back of the bike. Well if it's the same red that is hahaha
There were some black chinese ones around ages ago, 45 quid or something. I was gutted as I bought one from Honda and had to have it painted to match my bike anyways. Did I mention I'm good at wasting money
Bit off topic .....I ordered a rear seat £20 from China for when I go touring for the Kriega to sit on It didn't fit, the plastic on the seat lock was too thick to go into the keeper so out came Mr Grinder trimmed of a couple of mm each side fit a treat no..
That sounds like the one I have. Was £45 off eBay not a bad fit at all, had some paint left over from another job so didn’t cost any extra. Seen a couple on Aliexpress recently, never bought anything from that site though.
Did you use bike paint to finish it or car paint? There's a Ford white I'm leaning towards using but would love to know a close match...
I think this is the one I used https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-NH...00ML-DIRECT-GLOSS-MOTORBIKE-BIKE/300432466995 It isn’t an exact match even though it’s the correct paint code, but it was close enough as it’s not directly next to any other white panels. You may get lucky with a off the shelf car paint. If you want an exact match best using RS Bike paint, but it’ll be more expensive as these are usually a Primer, base coat and lacquer application.
