I'd avoid the Ventura option. The luggage is too far back which will exacerbate stress on the subframe. Generally I carry little on the Hepco Becker plate because of the restrictions. It you're on the road all day it us useful for water, wallet, phone batteries etc. If I'm going long distance then post your gear.
Steve from Maidstone said someone posted his gear everyday, via DPS or similar, was that you ? My mate had ventura pack fitted to his V4s on our trip last year, the rack is reversible so you can carry a pillion(not that you would on a V4s) he had this way when we left after the first day he reversed it so it was right over the rear seat, bit of a fecker to get your leg over and if you had a rucksack as well it would push your nuts into the tank ! but no worse kriega bags. My point is with the kriega on the seat the weight is directly behind you, which by looking at the Hepco Becka website the plate is the same, with the ventura the weight stress is further forward, but also the weight stress is via 4 bolts not a mass area.. I wonder how much heavier the normal blade rear frame is ? that's where the issue lies.
Not me. Steve posts using Royal Mail 24 hour, so should be with you today. I got my covers today. As you say, subframe is the issue. No idea how much stronger the std one is. It was a silly move imho giving the SP a lighter subframe.
Yes I did see SP/SP2 198kg standard blade 200kg wet I'm guessing wheels are lighter along with rear frame, and no pillion foot-pegs, am I missing anything ? Edited Lithium battery
Use a 'Bagster' tail pack. Expandable, very stable and easy to fit via pillion seat pad. My site PPE (hard hat, boots, bright vest etc.) fits in it easily and was useful for TT trip last year. Very handy price of kit.
