This has been daily viewing for the last week.

In the absence of a TT this year I've installed Ride on the Edge 2, persuaded it to recognise my joystick and am trying to learn the course.

Onbike view and all the HUD clutter switched off - the map's worse than useless anyway, every glance over at it I was in a wall or hedge.
...so it's been endless adrenaline feeling my way around and daily doses of Milky - trying to drum in every word he says. :)

Can't wait for my first clean lap, my flatmate has been insufferable...
"Bob McIntyre managed 100mph lap 60-odd years ago on a Gilera with a dustbin fairing and you can't do it on a CBR600?"

While I'm talking videogames it'd be daft not to plug Oliver's Mount.
Mystic's onboard vid shows it off pretty well, what with him running a VR setup.
Shame he forgot to up the draw distance. Those black areas in the distance should be rolling hills as far as the eye can see.

    All my own work. :)
...as in - I modeled the track from scratch in 3D Studio and Lightwave based on an aerial LIDAR point cloud.
I pinched the marshall models and most of the textures from other games but the road, buildings, fences, hedges, signs, etc, are all modeled by muggins. Used a program called SpeedTree for the trees but even then, every one is individual and as close to the real trees as I could get them.

It's still a long way from finished but with a labour of love like this I don't really think I'll ever consider it finished. :)

The game itself is called GP Bikes. It's more sim than game.
...and the more cynical folk in the GP Bikes community would say it'll never be finished either. :)

I've started a fresh thread - rather than cluttering up this one with game talk. :)

Just watched RTW trip on Gixer 1k by Teapotone. Looks like he met up with a few members of this site for a rideout in 2013/14
