Funnily enough after clicking your eBay link I was about to ask why the spokes look different. I should have spotted that wheel as being RR4-7 as I have 3 sets Out of interest how much were they as I may be selling a set soon.
On the plus side if you look up the correct wheel for your year it looks like Honda conveniently only had one mould, just like Liam suggested in post 3. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB...947205?hash=item261ef235c5:g:hj4AAOSw0RpcnjEV
The wheels I bought were 550 GBP all together. That what you sent looks like a pretty nice deal, but the cheapest rear one I can find is 550 EUR And also looks like this wheel has "slight out", not too sure what that refers too exactly
Does anyone if the 2015 fit the 2011 model? Because in the EBay ad, just says 2014 to 2016 and I can't really find any comparability online for whatever reason
Awesome thank you. Really considering that 2015 wheel, I read some stuff that ENKEI wheels are pretty much like the OEM ones. Still need to figure out what the very slight out refers too, can't contact seller about item on ebay...
Those Enkeis are OEM wheels just like Yutaba makes front disc, and Tokico make calipers. That version came in 2012, I believe heavier than 2008 but stronger and less rotational mass.
£550 really isn't that good a deal for 2007 wheels unless they're pretty much brand new. I'd take £450 for mine and that's with all 3 discs and a set of race wets. Re the "slight out", that will be the sellers way of saying that they either have a bend like yours or not exactly straight. One other thing that confuses me, in the first photo (below) in your opening post. Is this a picture of your bike with the bent wheel as it shows what looks like an RR4/5?
Alright I made a decision, kind of done wasting my time buying cat in a bag with the whole "slightly out" and what-not, so tomorrow I'll be picking up pretty much brand new OEM repsol 2015 wheels from the US. The seller said the shipping might take around a month, and he is only selling with all of the discs and sprocket. So in total it will be 1.2k for both wheels (ouch), if anyone is feeling like making an offer to me, go ahead, I will let this sit till tomorrow evening, and then I'll order them. Another reason I'm buying them, is that they have the flat surfaces, so if I decide to keep the ABS in the end, I can easily do the holes myself. Also I like the looks too, so it will be a nice little update to my blade
Before you do that, if thats all the damage there is to your wheel a professional wheel repairer would easily be able to fix it - not like a mobile alloy wheel repairer who do patch repairs but a proper one like Lepsons in Gillingham (Kent) - there is another very well known and respected one but I forget the name. https://www.lepsons.com/ Can't speak highly enough about them and it will be a damn site cheaper than what you're about to do - trust me they've repaired far worse wheels than that!! Can't hurt to email them they'd do both wheels and re-paint them (as they strip them back to the metal first). Even if you do get the new wheels, get Lepsons to repair yours and keep them as a second pair or something or sell them on being clear that they've been repaired by Lepsons . . .
Thanks for the info, yeah that's only the rear wheel, the front one is way worse off. Here's video of the front one: https://streamable.com/89evmz Oh yeah, before I commit to these wheels, does anyone know if there is any difference between the US wheels and the EU ones? In the Ad it's once again saying 2012-2015 wheels, not sure why people list it for those years only? Could it be that the color is different shade? Although as much as I can make from the pics, it looks like the brighter orange, which is what my bike has.
To be honest with you mate, they both look like they could be repairable to me? I would send pictures to Lepsons and see what they say, I'm almost sure they've repaired far worse than that!!
The manufacture year is 2012, but the model is from 2011. I don't have a close up, but could take one tomorrow. Why is that?
£1200 seems to be a shed load of money to spend on wheels, when a fix as advised above would sort the problem.
That's true, but to be honest, I was always interested in swapping to those newer year wheels so now I think it's as good of a time as ever to go for it. I'll search a bit more for deals, but not many around
1200 seems very expensive for 12 + wheels, I'm assuming that includes shipping etc and you are in the Netherlands? For a few hundred extra you are in the Oz and Dymag area. I was recently looking at selling my 2013 wheels for around 500 quid.
Yeah that is with shipping from the US, and also they are the original repsol wheels which is pretty hard to come by. Here in Netherlands couldn’t find a single place that could match the colour to Honda orange. Are your wheels also the repsol colorway?
