Same here spent over £200 on Ducati Dainese, to small over the wrist to the point its unbearable, but too long in the finger by about 20 mm, you have to force the seem to get your finger in as far as possible:eek: the only gloves I've been happy with were the RST, and Oxford SP's both really comfortable and both done several thousand touring the last 5 years

I always think of it this was, if the worst happens and you do come off, its instinct to put your hands out to stop yourself, one of the first things to hit the road.

That's in the back of my mind sometimes when I wear lightweight summer shorties but a few yrs back a friend had a slow off with decent gloves on and put his hands out and it bent them back and broke both wrists....his missus was most unhappy at having to play nursey at wash and toilet time lol

I've had a couple of offs and it's happened so quickly I never had a chance to put my hands down. My gloves were damaged mainly from my hands 'slapping g down' on the road as I bounced along . That said I'm still not seeing £200+ gloves offering much if anything more than the ones I'm looking at. I'm going to order today and give them ago. If professional riders use them at the TT they cant be that bad ;)

I figure just to always wear gloves.

My Dad came off and put his hand out like most people, and the road grit and muck went into his hand, under the skin just below the wrist. They cleaned most of it out before sewing him up, but it got terribly infected and they were considering amputating his hand.

They had another go at cleaning it all out but it was a close thing, he almost lost his hand because of it. So golden rule - always wear gloves !

He was my boss at that point. Funny thing is though he took it to dealer to sort out, they said a few running issues, take it for a proper good blast. Has he joined the dual carriage way he opened it up to the annoyance of the unmarked traffic cop who gave chase. after a few miles he checked his mirror seen the blues so pulled over next layby.. He got away with being banned because they couldn't hit the shadow button quick enough. So 3 points..

Bought a posh shed, some boots and some more in-ears. Now got to order a skip to get rid of all the shit from the real shed.

And then some slabs, a computer desk, chair, router and some cabling to go in.

This lot will still cost me less than a "decent" laptop.

Well my day was spent playing with my new rotary hammer and chisel set. All kitchen floor tiles are now gone and I'm about a third of the way through getting the absolutely rock hard adhesive off the floor.
The dust is incredible and if course someone isn't happy about the mess !!!!! How she thinks you can do jobs like this without a mess is beyond me.
Anyway the titan model from screwfix at £90 is a bargain...loads of power but it is a bit heavy.
Then there will be the joy of buying new tiles and paying a tiler, a quick guess £1500 and my bike still wont go any faster

Screwfix do a wet dry vacuum about £40 iirc, when using you hammer drill put the hoover pipe as close as you can probably 90% of the dust will be sucked up.

Mmmmm SDS hammer drills. Burnt through 2 B&Q ones whilst removing cement render, so bought a Bosch one ironically with the model number starting with GBH. Awesome bit of kit.

Been using my GBH 4 DFE most of the evening. Like you say. Awesome! It’s probably 15 years old and only ever had a replacement chuck but it was very expensive at the time and has proved a worthwhile investment :)
