I know a few people who purposely use a different front. Aslong as it's the front that is the grippier/newer.
Pirelli supercorsa V2 standard on sp got 3500 miles out of them just do country roads so didn't square off great Spring/summer tyre need heat in them just had V3 fitted only £5 difference so why not have the later ones these are slightly taller in profile and 23% more grip on the sides and a harder compound through middle only done about 50 miles on them before that on my previous blade had Bridgestone S21 and S22 all very good get about 4K a set to be honest if I rode in more iffy conditions would of put the Diablo Rosso corsa on .
I got recommended these Paul but I find they follow every groove in the road and horrible crossing white lines Bridgestone 21’s before great tyre in the dry when hot
It was on the bike when I brought it mate Didn’t look to clever when I realised I needed new ones It took quite a while to heat up as well mark had to watch what you was doing otherwise it would spin up on you. Done about 5 miles one day though the city then gave it a handful and still spun up I haven’t had a spin out of the m7’s but I don’t like the tracking of them unless they have been fitted wrong
Dunlop q3 plus 190/55. About 5000 miles out of dual compound rear and 7000 out of a front. They make lots of boogers with little effort.
Just had a set of Metzeler m9rr fitted ‘this morning only done 50 miles on them and for me already a game changer
Just had a pair of Bridgestone RS11's put on this morning (went for a 55 profile)... if they're better than the 10's then I'm in for a right treat as the RS10's on the R1 were excellent, didn't get a lot out of the rear but brilliant for quick rides and trackdays, surprisingly good in the cold\damp too... will give em a spin tonight or tomorrow afternoon after work
I wonder why Bridgestone have added groves right to the edge of the tyre .....strange on such a performance tyre..
Strange design eh? Looks nice aesthetically but yeah, not seen groves to the edge on a tyre designed for this purpose for a long time..
Think I'm going to get a pair of Bridgestone S21 this time ,,,,,, I'm only getting 3000 miles out of the bt016 pro's rear ,,,,,,, but they do wear evenly and are cheep Im going to try a 55 profile to see what all the fuss is about
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the added height. I was considering the 55 as well but I like being able to comfortably touch the ground with both feet. midget problems
I think it's about 5mm difference in hight at the rear axle, so about 3mm at your feet . I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong
3mm is a moutain when you need every mil I reduced my preload front and back by a click just to get the tip toes more comfy
I am on tip toe on these new supercorsa v3 quite a sharp profile, on a Plus side massive contact patch when over , rec pressures also very hard mode 2 shakes your teeth out...,
I put a 55 on mine last year for a couple of track days. Turns in faster but not alarmingly so. Will definitely stick with this profile. ETA: My bike is a 2007
Yes your right mucks up the electronics stick with a 50....however a Pirelli v3 sp has a sharp profile
I've been researching tyres as the OE dunlops (which I'm fed up of sliding everywhere on) are nearly on the wear bars. Whats everyone's experience of using sport touring tyres on a blade? My previous bikes have eaten tyres quickly. I would never fit anything other than sport tyres or sport touring tyres for road use for obvious reasons. The sport tyres tip in and out of corners easier vs sport touring tyres but i can kill the centre of the tyre very quickly. What sport touring tyres would you guys recommend?
Rosso 3's I thought were good used them last year Spain Potugal 3000 mile still plenty left when I sold the bike, mate used SC v3, on his V4's they lasted the trip with tread left as well, which did surprise me. S21's lasted under 3000 miles good tyre but poor mileage. Had T30's on my ZZR didn't make 2500 miles, had to buy a tyre in Switzerland GT Angel £330 FFS, shit tyre too worst I'.ve had
