390 miles done, 210 to do before 1st service on Saturday. I've almost behaved myself with the running on process too. The 1050 triple is a peach in the midrange.
done my fork seal and changed oil on my BPF last week, along with some new pads and new shorty RCS 19 lever; all the stuff that I wanted to do last winter, home office and endless online game is getting me a bit crazy without working on the bike
My blade is giving some really good economy especially as its only got about 600 miles on it. My Blade 1000cc 4 cylinder 189bhp 39.8mpg My BMW f700gs 800cc 2 cylinder 75bhp 42mpg Those figures are typical on the exact same country roads route only difference is I cover that route a whole lot quicker on the blade ! (Though the beemer much much more comfy!)
Spent about three hours making and fitting a rubber flap to go between std rear hugger and undertray of my 900 Tracer - all to save £90 odd on a new hugger! The things you can do in lockdown!
got up at 4 am took Mrs graveltrap and kids to see sunrise at filey. hap a paddle built a fought had breakfast on beach then at 8.30 packed up and came home before it fill up with fools. had place to ourselves. lovely.
to be honest it was Mrs graveltraps idea and I was not that keen . thought kids would be a pain . they loved it . also just been out for two hours on blade . I need some lockdown gut friendly leathers. I am 100% dad bod now .
Lucky for me I kept my old one piece which is bigger size, works well as an "after Lockdown leathers" while I work on getting back to my before Lockdown size
I'm pretty sure I wont ever be seeing my pre lockdown size again. I will just get used to being fatter cos it's a lot easier
Both car and bike services done. Now the Speed's had its 1st service I might take it out in the morning and give 3rd gear a rinsing around the lanes. Might take the car out and do the same after tea.
It's not through lack of exercise, it's down to my wife having little to do do she been baking loads of cakes and I can't help to eating them all lol
Dont complain I would love a wife that could cook or even one that would try to cook would be good. Mine......well........she has done hard boiled eggs before and burnt them, just left them going and going and going so no water left in pan We only survive cos I cook or we would starve!
Anyway got the blade booked in for the 17th for its 600 service. £195 seems a bit rich for oil change but hey ho. If weather stays good I can see it having close to a thousand miles on it by then. Out again tomorrow but not decided which bike yet, had the little beemer out this morning. My 'real world problem' is take beemer again as it's got some flies adorning it anyway or take the blade which is now all clean and shiney and make it less clean and shiney Lifes a bitch sometimes !
