I get hunting on tickover when stationary, but its so smooth through the entire rev range which could be down to the Rapid Race Module doing its work. A fast-ish ride I do not feel any ache & pains but the bimble ride on Wednesday the pain was pretty much unbearable my arse felt like it was sitting on a pin cushion for the last 30 or so miles. Never ever had pain like this on the 1299. I guess bimble is not for this bike. but It is growing on me, it is surprisingly quicker than I expected.
Yeah I'm fine comfort wise when cracking on a bit but it's the slow stuff without the wind to help support your weight when it becomes hard work. The back of my neck is where it gets me most then the wrists, thankfully my arse is ok, must be well padded? The power is definitely not what I expected. I think I was expecting it be similar to the zx10 but its not really. It's got a decent mid range and with the high rev limit it gets nuts from about 9000 rpm all the way to 13k. Starting to really like the power delivery. The hunting below 3000 is really neither here nor there as that's just not where I ride, like I said it's only noticeable in 20mph zones and it wasnt designed to operate at 20mph!
My biggest gripe is its too smooth at slow speed, to the point I keep stalling the fucking thing, thinking I'm in 1st when I'm actually in 3rd. The joys of riding a 1299 which needed to be in 1st under 15mph!
