Think your crispy battered sex toy his the last of his worries, looks like he left his head in his lid when he took it off.
80 odd mile jaunt today, got her dirty. Seriously considering sticking the baffle in the pipe. Get too much attention. Bike always draws a few looks and today was no exception even with more expensive and newer bikes in the car park.
Went out out. All spur of the moment stuff, but did my good deed for the day when I nearly collected a blade riders pillion seat bouncing down the road in front of me. Flagged him down and took him back to the scene of the near miss.
Always gives me the willy's seeing £700 helmets hung like that! Do you not collect all the files off the mirrors on the inside of your lid too?
Trust me..... If there was somewhere to put it down it would have. You'll notice in the first pic my helmet is not hung on the mirror. It was a bit windy up the cat an fiddle on Saturday. I was worried my bike might get blown over so I hung onto the Iid myself
Only did my regular 40 mile loop today. Wife was moaning about me being out for 5 hours yesterday. My loop takes in my favourite biking road, the A588 between Cockerham and Pilling. Heard today a biker got killed on the road yesterday, just an hour or so after I blasted down it. Makes you think, very, very sad.
I know that road well, been down it for the last 30 years of my life. My family have owned a caravan at Moss Wood caravan park on that very road. While I went up and down it as a kid, I've also been a regular on the very same road as a biker.... And while I know it like the back of my hand I'm saddened to hear some was lost there recently!!
Worst of it is I took the bait on Saturday and reacted to a Merc AMG down the main Pilling straight. Was at 120 when I pulled out to overtake, North of 160 when I hit the anchors at the end, approaching the 90 degree left. Lad who never made it home was probably doing far less. Utter stupidity on my part, lesson learnt. Could so easily have been me.
Went for a spirited bimble this afternoon with the Mrs today on the ZZR, Lizard Point, Land End, Coast Roads pure joy not to many cars on the roads either. Until we got a few miles from home, a few twisties before a village went round a dipping right hander that quickly turns into a left uphill, only to be met by a VW van on my side on the road with a bearded yeti on space dust driving if the gap was 3 foot it was an exaggeration. I shat myself Mrs wasn't to good either. But we live to tell the tale
Yeah it's sometimes down to luck also, I was going to Willingham woods the other day, took a sharpish left hander at a reasonable/fast speed only to find on exiting the corner a 40 ton Artic completely on the wrong side of the road managed to pull the bike over enough to miss it, made my heart beat increase a bit for sure. They say bikes are dangerous, however if I had been in my car it would have been a head on crash or a trip to the ditch for sure.
That could be your track riding coming in to play. Many road riders could easily have got fixated on the lorry....
Run round loop to Beachy Head, Hastings, Rye then home. beautifully warm and sunny and grippy blacktop. Nice Mr Whippy in Rye, fish and chip supper ready when I got home, and now off for a few socially distanced beers with my mates on the patio at the cricket club, perfect day, what more does a man need ?
