new helmet

I've got the Xlite 803, extremely impressed with it, very comfortable to wear and with earplugs reasonably quiet and it looks pretty good too.

 

I've had one of these for six months and absolutely love it. Very light and very comfortable.

I need a new helmet and want the X-Lite 803 ultra carbon hot lap. Seems I can only get it online as no shops stock them. Helmet city do them. Is it OK to buy online without trying on? I was always told you must try a helmet on to make sure of fit etc. And can i return if it doesn't fit?

 

Pretty certain Sportsbikeshop will let you return a lid if it doesn't fit.

My son has brought the scorpion exo 1400 carbon and the pinlock does not fit round the visor catch properly
He only found this out yesterday in some rain
He took it back to infinity today and the bloke said it’s wear and tear

New helmet has only worn it five times
The pinlock does not fit and now infinity have said there is nothin wrong

As long as it’s unused and the plastic film hasn’t been peeled off the front of the visor, they’ll take it back (SBS that is)

 

Don’t understand how they could argue it’s wear and tear if it doesn’t fit?!

 

Also got the Xlite Carbon and well pleased with it, order 2 in different sizes and keep what fits if not happy send them back.

 

Nor do we but we have wrote to scorpion because it has a five year guarantee

 

If I'd seen your message before I would have ordered 2. I ordered the medium and it came today and i'm wearing it as I type this. It is snug enough that it pushes my cheeks in enough that I bite the inside of my mouth when I close my jaw. Is that right or is it too tight? I presume the cheek pads will give a little?

 

If you are biting your cheeks it might be to tight.
But it is very hard to say without seeing

 

You can get different thickness cheek pads for the x-lite.

 

Last year bought Arai from J&S braintree as the sales guy said its exclusive for naked bikes. Such a rubbish lid, visor had too many scratches in just 6 months and had to replace with 60 pounds. Also hasn't got internal sun visor, in future will definitely stay away from Arai

 

Mine eased up after a few wearings, absolutely love it now so light in comparison with other helmets I've had.

 

Decided to send it back and ordered the larger size. Just waiting for it to arrive.

 

I’ve got the 803 ultra carbon moto gp and hand on heart it’s the best lid i’ve had. Had Shoei AGV Suomi and HJC but this is a cut above. The attention to detail is fantastic Love the green liner as well

 

If you were not totally happy with the fit you've done the right thing, hope you will be happy with the replacement
