Hi Anyone got any suggestions? I tried to fit my standard can to my 2015 blade and ruined the gasket in the can..so ordered a new one... I have put this on the cat end..and it is a very tight fit..and then tried to put this in the can and it's a tight fit.. What is the correct process to get this on? Is it put it in the can end then try to get this over the cat? If so how can I make sure it goes on and not get damaged again.. Thanks
I did that on my '15 RA. I had to use Dremel cutting disk on the bolt on the old clamp and it was a bit of a wiggle to get the OEM part back on but it all went together OK so I can't help any.
I've not messed with a new gasket, however the process I used was to slightly compress the edge of the gasket (it was located in the end can link pipe end ) ...like creating a slight chamfer, but only finger pressure, no tools required. Ensure that the clamp is FULLY loosened, almost to the point of falling open Gently offer the end can link pipe up to the cat with the top of the exhaust in your left hand pointing toward the ground upon which the bike is standing! Now slowly rotate toward the bike and at the same time pushing the link pipe toward the cat...doing this gently but firmly, if you feel resistance stop and check the gasket...once it clears the lip of the cat your good and can keep rotating clockwise and counter clockwise whilst pushing it firmly into place Locate the bolt on the foot rest and the clamp on the link pipe Finger tight the footrest bolt followed by the clamp ensure the actuator cable is routed up and securely connected to the motor under the pillion seat area (hidden flap) then go back and fully torque up your bolts.
