    That would the Ts and Cs IF the bike is over 2 years old when you take out the policy.

    If you take out the policy whilst the bike is UNDER 2 years old and the original warranty is still in place, it would be these Ts and Cs here;

    https://www.honda.co.uk/content/hon...es/Extended Guarantee - less than 2 years.pdf

    Incidentally if you take it out at the point of purchase and extend it for twelve months from the point at which you by the bike (and no later than 30 days or 1000 miles from the point of purchase) then a completely different set of Ts and Cs are laid out here;

    https://www.honda.co.uk/content/hon...on to Manufacturers Warranty - 06.08.2015.pdf

    From looking at the titles of the PDF docs only the 30 day from sale is an extension of the manufactures warranty the others are different types of warranty.

    You would be looking at the first document in this post as your bike is under 2yrs old and still within its manufacturer warranty period.

    Still a fair few exlusions and gotchas though!

    I had a radiator go once, I had warranty so I thought great no probs, They said I have to pay for the full repair at a stealer then they would decide later if it was fair wear and tear and refund me.
    Needles to say I went a different route, I could not afford to take the gamble of not getting my money back.
    I agree anything major goes claim the fit for purpose route.

    Depends, I've heard Kawsaki warranty extensions are rock solid as its a literal extension of the manufacturers warranty to 36 or 48 months.

    I've also heard the Piaggio Groups's extended warranty is semi-decent as well if you get past their initial inclination to say no to absolutely everything until you appeal it!

    Also heard MV Augusta were doubling their warranty if you bought a bike in June from 24 to 48 months ?!

    Thanks for this.
    That looks a bit better showing what isn’t covered rather than what is covered.
    My bike won’t have done the mileage to have it serviced every year so i’ll have to ask if i can have an annual check over and the warranty still stand. There’s no way it will have done 8k miles a year. My last blade did about 6k miles in 6 years!

    Similarly, from what I was told when I bought my fireblade back in 2018, either get the extended warranty now (i.e. within 30 days) or don't bother as the others tend to have too many clauses and exceptions that you'll be lucky if something expensive goes wrong is actually covered..

    the moraal of the story is that at the end of the day, you are buying an isurance. Either direct from honda or a dealer/ third party insurance.

    You just need to make a list of what areas you need cover for as they don't all have the same T&C's. When I did my cars few years back T&C's were more straight forward without if's & but's so in my case I got my money's worth many many folds back. But nowadays, it's a different story

    dangermouse has giving you some advise and links for different scenarios
