Racefit Infill fitted with the new Akra

Hi buddy!

I just wanted to say thanks for this original thread. I stumbled on it a month ago, saw the great job with the racefit infill, and did it myself!
Once I'd chopped a bit of the carbon off around the pipe, I thought I'd try my hand at applying some 3M vinyl so the graphics followed on nicely. I think it's turned out pretty well!

Next step to fit the battery and start her up! It'll be interesting what this new exhaust sounds like!

That looks lush Mike, great job there!

I'd be inclined to add more of the white decals along the bottom black section of the belly to make it even more uniform, but that's just my opinion.

Presumably you'd have to cut away a lot more if you wanted to use the older Akrapovic slip-on?

Looks like this is the best infill panel on the market though so might just have to pull the trigger on it.

 

Finished mine today. Really pleased with it and just 15 mins with the Dremel

 

Is this the racefit one? I'm looking at doing the same with mine as it will need trimming etc.

 

Hi there, yes it's the racefit one. £120 with the postage. Really easy to cut and sand with the dremel. Originally I cut the gap to 5mm but thought it was a little too close, so, I opened it up to 10mm. Hope this helps?

Out of interest, looking at this pic, how much material would you say I will be removing? I think I will have to trim it back a little more than you have but I'm worried about if I'd be going into the area of any fixings etc?

 

I think yours looks OK as it is. However, yes you would have to cut a fair bit off. The mounting bracket is right at the bottom, so, you should be OK to cut quite a fair amount off. With a bit of work, it would look great cut around the Akro heel guard.

Nope, don’t think so. I have the S bend type and it sits lower than the belly pan so you would only benefit being able to extend the side a tiny proportion. Most of the panel would need cut away....Ive already binned this idea

 

Guess thats as good an excuse as any to swap the slip-on order for a full system - not that much in it from the old style slip on to the racing line.

Slip on seems to have an exhaust servo/valve in the pipework whereas the full system doesn't - if I did go full system route do I just take the exhaust servo cable out and leave everything else in - will that produce no errors on the dash?

If you leave the servo connected then you wont get any errors. If you want to lose the weight of it you get a servo healer to connect in its place..,

 

I've seen two or three on the market any you have first hand experience of?

I think you may struggle, as it looks like the silencer comes out too far. Hard to say for certain, without offering it up.

 

Cool, yeah thery're fairly expensive to just buy and try it on the off chance.

 

How much weight you think you saved with the holes mate? I’ve got one and wondered if it was worth taking it off to do the job.
