Just back! I wish, no like a bunch of winos we take our bottles or cans and glasses and sit 6’ apart on the patio and talk complete BS all evening, so just like any other night really, other than it’s cheaper than the bar prices when it’s open
Breezy one today. Was having to watch the gusts on the high ground. Up and over the Loch Doon road. Usually I'll make a loop of that one and come back up the 7076 but the traffic was so light on the 713 that I just spun round at Castle Douglas and hit it again. Cut over to Cumnock and came home via Muirkirk. Bloody exhausted, wrists are aching. Great stuff!
Devils Bridge again no need for social distancing. ....... billy no mates again Lots of bloody greenfly about
Run out with my mate on his R6 around the coast, 150 miles on a 400 is a bit tough on the body nowadays.
Don't know which I enjoyed the most - first burger of the year or finding somewhere to scoff it. Eaglesham Moor - possibly the flattest view in Scotland. Wasn't really there for the view though. Man, that burger was good.
Down the 7076 then over the Crawfordjohn road, an entertaining little affair that I'd never ridden before. Looped round and back via Murkirk again. Starting to get to know the home stretch now. Learning where the dodgy surfaces are and the nasty bomb hole corner isn't giving me a fright any more. Such a fun little stretch of road although it always seems to leave my wrists aching(today's run started with a trip to the office which probably didn't help in that regard - was feeling it in my wrists even before I started the scenic route home). Quite enjoying getting to know the area south of Glasgow again. Years since I've ridden there often(generally a trossachs/west coast merchant) but there are some great roads and they're so quite.
Probably less police too, stopping bikes for travelling more than 5 miles and suggesting they go home.
Yeah, that's my thinking too. My mate who goes out to Kintyre to see the kids at weekends says the traffic(bike and car) has been back to normal for the last couple of weeks now. Maybe not full-on summer normal but not far off. Only bike he's seen stopped was at the usual speedtrap on the straight just after the rest and be thankful. He took this last sunday. You'd barely know there was a lockdiwn on. ...but while it's still naughty I'm basically avoiding everything. Midweek rides, fill up at Asda(self service - no cashier), stay inland and away from anything touristy, one smoke break in the middle of nowhere and short enough runs to be home on the same tankful. Feels like playing the game at least.
I think the BLM protests have put the final nail in the lockdown if you ask me. There hasn't been any strong retribution for their mass gatherings and very few politicians have dared say what they're doing is wrong. So all in all, I don't see how anybody could hold a straight face whilst questioning why so and so is visiting your house or why you're more than 5 miles from home etc.
What lockdown! Pictures from London were obscene! Those will be the people who say the government didn’t do enough to limit the spread of covid too.... time and a place everyone, let’s deal with one problem before taking the next on
Has anyone woken @Selmer50mark up yet from Devils Bridge? He's taking at least 6 bike spaces up and it's going to be busy tomorrow
