Might be worth re-wiring it completely. Solder new wires to the new stator, put new connectors to the REG/REC then new wires to the battery.

My generation of VFR had reg/rec gremlins. It has 2 connectors that are pointless so a lot of people ditch them when overhauling the system.

Here's a guide to overhauling the system on the VFR, it will be the same for the blade....

As said it is a Honda thing, CBR600Fs used to like blowing reg/recs too as well as the aforementioned Viffers. Oh yes and don't forget Honda CCTs are naff across the range as well so it isn't just electrics ;)

My first experience of Hondas inability to design a reliable CCT was in 1984 on my A reg CBX550. Boy I loved that bike but it had 2 replacements under warranty whilst I had it.

LOL, anyone who is anyone knows to wire the RR direct to the battery on a Honda, that is of course after replacing the said sh*t OEM component with a quality unit. Use a decent thermal heat paste when you mount the RR.

Now, that said, the thought of the good man pissing all over his bike is priceless, welcome to bizarre world of Honda reg/recs. :D

The RR needs a decent heat sink, hence you must mount it to the frame where it can dissipate heat, plus the new RR will benefit if you purchase a MOSFET RR.
