Last private plate I had went with the RR6 when it was nicked and the insurance company ended owning it as they paid out for the bike.
Had one of those 3 series conv. and a private plate in individual spec purple with cream leather only one like it in the country, also the biggest pile of shit we've ever owned
Slightly off topic but have you heard what BMWs intentions are regarding some of their optional extras on the cars? They are going to make certain extras like cruise control, heated seats and heated steering wheel a subscription based service!? So you'll buy the car with everything fitted but you'll have to unlock it with a subscription. How shocking is that!?! Imagine how many times BMW can make money on those extras over the life of the car!?
I'm sure it won't be long before an 'enterprising' BMW employed technician will helpfully be able to do it cheaper...like they already do for removing the restrictor on the bikes etc
I can see why sat nav subscription might be useful. Saves the user money if they don't use it often and might be worth the subscription if you do if its constantly updating maps etc. I can't imagine its going to be too long before we don't own cars anyways and there are car parks full of tesla like vehicles which you can summon to collect you and be a backseat passenger before it drives itself back to a big lot somewhere.
Seems to be that car ownership is getting less and less. I'm the odd one out at work, most people just PCP their cars.
As said car ownership is a dieing thing. Manufacturers want a bit of the cherry at every stage of ownership, but what they don't realise is that if people get too used to just leasing cars then the jump to short term hiring is that big a step, and even shared ownership will become more prevelant. So says they man with a 10 year old 110,000+ miles car, but that is because I got off the wanting flashy fast cars train many years back.
Me again Finally got this sorted and on the car and new v5 is here. What happens to my original registration? Does it stay assigned to my car or can anyone obtain it?
When you take the private plate off (prior to selling the car or bike) in 99% of cases it will revert to its original registration
