anyone got install instructions for a racefit black edition on a 2012,searched google and had no reply from racefit as yet, just curious as to where the bolts circled in red attach to the bike,do they use existing holes that are used for oem headers / brackets.just trying to get a mental picture in my bonce before i start, not rocket science but if you don,t ask you don,t know
Not the best picture mate but should give you an idea of location? There’s two holes in front of the base of the shock
I put the pipe on first mate just to not damage the carbon so it’s do able and wasn’t too bad to do them up
There is a very bad video if you di a search on Google - I won;t post a link the bloke makes it a lot harder than it needs to be. If you can get the bike on a ramp it helps, but once you get the old exhaust off, fit that bracket, then the pipe, then the carbon filler cover. When you hold the bracket in place to hold the cover in the right place it is pretty obvious where it fits to the bike - and who knows what those holes are used for!
Hi all, what’s the difference between 2012-2013 and 2014-2016???? I have 2012 but is it just the o2 sensor on mine is slip on side? Is the pipe dia different?
Hi guys, it’s been a long time since I visited this forum and I’m happy to see Racefits still get as much attention as they used to. I have a 2014 Fireblade which I bought from new and I installed a Racefit Black Edition almost as soon as I got it home. For years I had a friendly MOT tester who would ignore the exhaust so long as I took along the original ‘just in case’. However last year he told me he couldn’t keep turning a blind eye and that I needed to at least get the baffle fitted. My family had a reason to take a pre-lockdown visit up to the Midlands and I decided to extend the journey a little and arranged a visit to the Racefit shop. I left the bike with them for the day that so they could fit the baffle. They were really friendly guys and did a great job. They even used a single red coloured rivet for the top joint which looks great and was a stylish and unexpected addition. The decibel meter might suggest that the reduction in noise in minimal, but personally I find it very noticeable.......it pops and bangs at slightly lower revs now and I feel a little less concerned every time I see a Police car coming towards me on the road. Still a great look and still sounds brilliant. For me it was a good decision. MOT is today so fingers crossed it’s enough to convince the tester!
Glad you got it sorted! Their customer service is top notch! Decent MOT Testers are hard to come by, but once you find one don't let go! Mine even advised me to take the baffle out as it sounds better and also safer as more people can hear you coming...
Agree, mine started his Harley up and said yours isn’t even loud. I was depressed I didn’t even get an advisory for it
