The main reason that I removed the servo motor, was to find a place for the quickshifter control unit and here it is all done... well pleased and it fits like OEM with about 1.5mm each side.
Looks awesome. How are you finding the shifter? Does it change as cleanly at full throttle as half throttle? I had one before and full throttle shifts felt like they were jamming into gear..
My next MOD is to fit a quick shifter and my honda dealer recomends HM, but felt translogic looks quality and even annitori which has both pull/push (reviews are not great). Is it easy to fit ourself and which is the best quick shifter.
All QS should be easy as they almost all go to the coils. Just pop the air box off and it’s pretty straight forward.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha Having fitted and subsequently removed a Translogic QS I can say, with great confidence, that it is THE most ball achingly bastard fitting job you will ever undertake. Fantastic bit of kit though
No pain No gain. by the way just curious why you have to take it off, any reason. Reading all these comments make me to stay away from quick shifters , rather than having one and suffering with the aftermaths
Sold the bike so took it off to sell separately. Its not a difficult job, just a massive ball ache stripping everything off only to find you've got fuck all room to get your hands in to clip on the connectors It took me a good few hours but it really is an awesome bit of kit and given it's plug and play you just fit it and ride like the devil's chasing you
Coils 1 and 4 are a pain to get to, as they're tucked in the front right up against the frame. Just need some mincey Jeremy Beadle hands and you'll get it done no pros! Chin
I absolutely love my Syncrotech Shift Power. Like butter on the shifts and makes a similar butterfly type noise like the Translogic unit. It's like it's going from one coil to the next type thing. It's not the berm, berm, berm of a HM as such. I won't buy HM again, but that's just down to my experience with them. Did I say, I love my Shift Power! Chin
I reduced the kill time to 50ms and set the min change rev to 6000rpm and to be honest it changes lovely. Chin is absolutely right, no 1 & 4 coil tops were a nightmare to get to.
I've just fitted my HM quickshifter and get to try it out at Cadwell next week. You need to be reasonably confident with tools to do the job as the airbox needs to be removed, I found the biggest struggle was trying to find a route beneath the tank that didn't trap the quickshifter wires. I didn't remove the tank completely (now that is a real pain in the arse job), eventually I just ran the wires between the tank and the frame so the module is under the seat. I'll sort it out another day, need it track ready now before the weather turns.
