So after many weeks of working from home, I finally headed back into central London for work yesterday (and of course it chucked it down with rain all the way home). However, a fault which occurred during a sunny Saturday ride down to Hastings a couple of weekends ago has reappeared. Just wondering if anyone else is having little annoyances like I've been having. The problem is with that little orange symbol in the far bottom right on the dash image below. It appears where the "SIDE STAND" image is when riding. I think I must have some kind of sensor fault - as the first thing that happens is the Traction Control warning light comes on with the PGM-FI warning light. This also disables the quick-shifter (really annoying when commuting through central London), and the the ABS warning light starts blinking away like crazy (this can be reset by switching off and on again). I'm pleased I have the extended Honda warranty, as this will be the 2nd fault this year which I hope my local Honda dealer will be able to sort out - and won't cause crazy red-herrings like the faulty battery did last year (I've been keeping the battery topped up with an Optimizer). Starting to think someone is trying to tempt me into a new 2020 model blade, and then I remember the insurance quotes and think not.
May be worth checking if you have any fault codes stored. There is a section on this in the owners manual and can be read through the dash. The code should point you in the direction of the issue but not sure where to find the codes list.
Oh really? I've had a look at the manual, and all I could find was that if the PGM-FI light comes on that I should slow down and take it to an authorised Honda dealer as soon as possible.. I suspect it's some kind of wheel speed sensor or wiring glitch but it would be great to find out the fault code(s) - I'll have another read through the manual later and update. I was going to ask whether anyone knows of a fault code reader for the RA-H (equivalent to an OBD2 port on cars)..
Hope you get it sorted mate. Do you not need to put the link in the plug under the pillion seat to check for fault codes?

Thanks but no code I can find for now. I do have the extended warranty so I’ll see what my local dealer can find. It would be useful to find out how to extract the codes.. I’ll update on progress as and when.
May be worth looking at codes when the fault is actually there. Next time it happens pull over and read the codes before turning ignition off. The code may be auto clearing.
I think top of the third page is what you need. To be honest it isn't easy to understand, but would seem that the code can be got from MIL light blinking. When you have a code, shout. There's pages and pages of error codes.
So the bike's with Honda and they've promised to share the fault codes with me which I'll post on here. I'm hoping it will point to something obvious like an intermittent connection to a wheel speed sensor or something.. Maybe that's overly optimistic but I'm feeling like a glass-half-full type today.. Maybe that shiny thing in the sky has lifted my spirits today!
Just a quick update - the news is there are some IMU sensor faults and IMU communication faults: Error codes are: 8-5 103-1 103-3 Honda tech have suggested that the tyres sizes are checked - of course these are fine - tyres haven't been changed for the last few thousand miles, so my local dealer is waiting for Honda Tech to revert with the next series of tests / next steps.
