Whilst I say this is a quick question, I know a lot of people on here really like their cleaning, so answers may not be quick, however I was just wondering how and what people use to clean under the seat, in and around the battery etc, and also inside the pillion seat area? Both areas are quite bad on mine and are in need of some tlc, so just wondering what others do, initial thoughts would be to use a damp cloth with a smidge of fairy or other washing up brand, don’t want to get it too wet because of the battery, wires etc. look forward to hearing what people do. thanks Rob
Not had to clean my bikes around that area.. but if I had to, I would use an APC (all purpose cleaner) spray, or a glass cleaner spray and a cloth. Use a brush to get into tight areas. Most of the connectors are semi-waterproof.. but I'd not recommend washing with copious amounts of water. You can remove the battery, and unclip harnesses to get better access.
Blast or suck the area with a DIY vac, a detailing brush will help Then some sort of MPC/APC, I generally use a dilution of Surfex HD on a microfibre/brush, then finish off with Turtle wax seal and shine
What you use depends on the grim that's there, it should be mainly dust. I also prefer vaccuming. You can control the power, know where the crap is going and not just moving it to another obscure part. The pillion seat area can let some spray water in I would vac it, then wet clean with a diluted mild solution as Slick mentioned
I found sealing around the rear lamp (I used a black gutter sealant in silicon application gun) helped reduce the grime accumulation under passenger seat, by reducing road spray around lamp that was getting in. Mr Honda does not seem to think a rear lamp seal is beneficial........... Mine a 2017 but remember needing same on 2014 model. Mike Mike
