I've always bought used but I'm now considering going for a new one. What's the best way to go about it? Do dealers offer better prices than listed? Is there a better time of year to buy or is that just a myth?
I've heard it said that January is a good time to buy, only because its reportedly a slow time of year for bike sales
I generally find there is no real movement on price, except the manufacturer has a scheme that can help to reduce the price on that bike. Its also very model dependent.. there are some cracking deals on the Triumph Speed Triple. However, there is no movement or discount on the CBR1000RR-R. Look out for 0% finance offers too, if you want to do that. January is indeed the best time to buy, and I'd recommend going in just before month end if you want a deal. What bikes are you looking at?
Let me know I will try Cresent Yamaha for you.....based in Verwood Dorset but can delivery top dealer ...I can always ask for
I have never really got anything substantial on a current model that is selling well. If the model is about to be replaced or is not selling then they might come up with a deal. When I bought my Fireblade I got the U-lock and the HRC tank pad included. Also I remember once getting a first service for free that was not normally included. It is a treat to have a new bike !
Well offered a new blade at cost to dealer plus sale or return on my bike put it up for top money ...waiting until the
Ooh nice. You not fancy the 900, ie a triple, rather than the twin? The tracer is quite popular. I would say.. "if you don't ask, you don't get". Ring a few different dealers and talk to them.
Suzuki currently doing the Gsxr 1000R for £100 deposit and £190 a month. Put a bigger deposit down and monthly payment is even less. Gotta say I'm tempted and by January I reckon I'll have one in the garage. For what you get its the best value superbike on the market right now!!
I've watched a fair bit of Tracer related content on YouTube and was leaning more towards the twin. The CP2 engine is supposed to be an absolute peach from what I've read. It definitely needs a zorst on it. And if you go for the Akra, the bike isn't so cheap anymore
Thanks Ian I quite fancy the new model. From the reading I've done the latest has much better suspension. That was the biggest criticism of the outgoing model.
Beautiful looking bike and if I was in the market for another sports bike I reckon that's what I'd be going for.
Good stuff. I had a 2015 MT09 Tracer (from nearly new) - and the weak point of that was the suspension. Good to hear the newer MTs have been updated. Cheers, Ian
Hello mate! Still loving it I take it? I'm trying to sit more upright. Not buy an Italian chaise lounge
you can get some deals if buying cash in winter, I had £1500 of my new R1 in 2015, not sure about renting though (PCP)?
This arrived last week. They did not get round to building it until 01 October - busy quarter for Ducati Monster 821 (list price paid - doh ! )
