I went for the Bridgestone BT023. £162.99 for the pair. Fitted them at work. They were lethal when newly fitted & gave me a couple of moments. Should have sandpapered them a bit while up on stands. What a difference new tyres make though! The old ones used to squirm over thicker white lines - felt like I had front & rear wheel steering going on at the same time! The new ones tip-in lovely. Still testing the wet grip, but seems really good so far.
now im confused again! im definitely no pro rider, but the 016 that i have do sometimes feel a bit squirrely on certain roads, and I definitely ride on wet greasy roads so id be no good with tyres that are only any good in the dry

Haha. I think our sticks are the wrong way round! I was trying to say 'beware when your tyres are brand new - they're slippery until you get the shine off them.'
I think i thought thats what you meant the last set i had fitted, the place was on a road with tram tracks. the guy warned me, at least eight separate times to be careful, even followed me out after i was sat on it, helmet on 1st gear to remind me nice that he worried, but probably thought 'we have got a right turnip here'
finally got myself a paddock stand and bobbins, so lunchtime’s job was setting that up. Never used one before and it’s a bit nervy getting it up on the stand on my own, but manageable. Surprisingly stable when it’s up! Now I’m just waiting for some filters and my very first DIY oil change will be next week... ps not one single comment on the chicken strips, I know they’re large
Tip on getting it onto the paddock stand is to stand on the offside of the bike (RHS) so if it is going to fall it’ll land on the stand.
I’m laughing on here but crying behind the keyboard... Good thinking that. The kind of thing I’d have thought of only after it had done it haha. Long term storage is next to the garage wall so lifting it there is pretty safe - it’ll either nudge against the wall or against me if it went over. Got my oil ready for whenever the filters arrive!
I worry less about my chicken strips, im going round corners fast enough to keep up with other riders, and looking around bike stops, mine are far from the biggest
Oil and filter change done! Wasn’t too onerous but did manage to get the old oil everywhere. Also need to source myself a torque wrench to make sure I’ve got them torqued up right. And I really need to clean up under the fairings - looking pretty grubby down there.
Norbar make good ones, but might be a bit spendy New tyres on today, they feel good, and im sure im imagining it, but they feel round, when cornering, making me feel a bit more confident, and since i have about 40mm of confidence left on each side, that can only be a good thing lol
Fitted a Translogic iS4, Gilles lever guard and did a bit of decluttering whilst the bike was in bits. Also learnt about the spare alarm socket under the riders seat! Didn't know it was there, going to make a good place for a switched live for my sat nav. Link below is for what I think is a connector to connect to the alarm socket. Only a bit of fun on the road, should prove useful on trackdays though. Haven't used it yet and won't be doing until the spring but as regards quality and ease of installation I'm very impressed with Translogic.
