Been working WAY too much! F all else to do so 12 hour days at my main job and done some delivery driving on the side. Christmas shopping sucks also.
gutted lozzy Gutted I read the first bit and got all excited and after settling down I then scrolled down
On my. I seem to have bought a lathe. Once I decided to do it and started looking at the models it was like buying a bike. You always think the next model up offers just enough extra to move your sights up... Repeat until you're broke.
Is this a new hobby or something you have previous experience with? I watch a guy from up here in Newcastle on YouTube does mostly lathe work. Its fascinating! DoubleBoost his channel is called.
I was taught it at school and joined the after school metalworking club basically to get more access to the machines. I still have items that I made on a school lathe in my toolbox some 55 years later although I doubt I will ever need to punch a hole for a B9A valve holder in an Aluminium chassis again. Installing it on my own will be fun as we're locked down. The spec says 145Kgms but I think (hope) that that is a shipping weight crated up with all the included accessories. It comes on Thursday so I find out then.
KBs Christmas pud prep day, overnight soak and then 8 hours steaming tomorrow then 5 weeks to ripen. Having worked in a traditional bakery when I was younger, made plenty of these on a large scale, so once a year the creative side of KB surfaces.
Maggots have been steamed to death and the ground bait will mature until Christmas Day and ready to go catch a whale
Well I've decided to pretty my garage up some more. Lockdown and random Internet browsing is damned expensive So I am now looking at 2 new insulated garage roller doors to keep my babies warm .....BUT.....have you seen what a minefield it is. All claiming to be the best, prices all over the shop, everyone warning of dodgy installers. Bloody hell i thought it would be easy. So anyone got recommendations for either door manufacturers and or North East installers?
Insulated garage roller doors!!, fuck me, and they say we Southerners are the rich ones, Missis is moaning she can’t get anymore than 5 jumpers on and wants me to turn the heating on, no chance it’s only December
If she straps her boobs down nice and tight she can get another 2 jumpers on so she might stop whinging So far had quotes for £2100 to nearly £4000. Spent a lot of time surfing etc and it looks like somewhere in the middle is probably the right rate but its not straight forward.....dozens and dozens of suppliers and fitters which Is why I was hoping for some recommendations
I've narrowed it down to Warm Protection garage door shutters as a few installers have quoted them as being their preferred premium product. Best quote so far at about £2700 for both so let's see where I end up as I am about to start the haggling ! Had quotes for Hormann and a few other established brands which are all well regarded and a little bit cheaper but going to push for the warm Protection brand and see if I can the the price down
Been out in the van today. The road between Market Rasen/ Wragby/ and Bardney have been peppered again. Once again always on the good biking sections. I swear now they do it just to piss bikers off. They even ‘surface dress’ parts of road which are in pristine condition.
