    Does anyone out there have any images of a genuine 2019 MY SP? I'm looking at one for sale that is advertised as a 2019 but I'm convinced it is a late registered MY 2018 model and thus does not benefit from the enhanced software package.

    What are the telltale signs (if any) between the 2018 and 2019 models?

    Thanks.

    The answer is in the chassis numbers 10th character my 2016 is a G - you’d assume 17 H, 18 though I’m not sure if they used I or went to J, but someone on here will know

    The paint scheme is slightly different. The belly pan also has the Honda logo outside of the stripe.... Screenshot_2020-11-30-18-24-42-1.png

    @dmc12 has a 19 sp

    This is my 2018 MY bike. The white triangle, border in blue on the nose is the easiest spot. The 2017 and 2019 both had a blue triangle , border in white.
    The differentiate the 2017 and 2019 you can look at the name graphic on the upper fairing. The 2017 has fireblade written on the main fairing colour body and the 2019 has it written within the stripes, more subtle to notice these things but there are differences.
    If you have photos stick them up and loads of peeps here will be able to tell you what it is.
    Lastly get the dealer to switch the ignition on and if there are 5 boxes of settings its the 19 if only 4 its an earlier model.

    On mine above you can see fireblade is written within the white stripe whereas the 2017 will be dropped down on the main red part of the fairing

    Thanks, that was very helpful. White triangle with a Blue Border & a VIN code for the year of "J" make it a 2018 MY

    With the right information you can make an informed choice.:D
    I think the software difference was to split the adjustment of traction control and wheely control so they were independent of each other.
    I've never noticed either on mine cutting in to be honest. The front wheel still comes up and you got to be pretty ham fisted to get the traction control lighting up , at least in the dry:oops:
    Anyway hope you find what your after they are great bikes. Very light, very agile :confused:

    Literally only 1 answer to this question.

    Turn the bike on and look at the dash

    You will see P T W EB S if it is a 2019 and you will see P T EB S if it is a 17 or 18.
