I was invited to join the site by Remal.

For some reason, he thinks I might have some skills that may be beneficial to members of the forum, so who am I to decline such an invite? ;)

That said, it does seem to be one of the better forums in the internet, and so I hope I can make a useful contribution.

The problem is TC that Remal is a notorious internet groomer and any 'special talents' he expects from you is undoubtedly giving executive relief to the moderation team.

    Welcome to the forum

Nah, he realised that, as ex mob you'd accept the 'terms & conditions' more readily.

    Sorry Jamie.

OK. I am a retired Police motorcyclist, so I hold Police class 1 car and bike qualifications.

I had a serious accident at work when I was taken out by a numpty whilst on the bike which left me permanantly disabled.

Since my retirement I have been a specialist motorcycle accident investigator working in the private legal sector and I advise solicitors and barristers on liability in motorcycle (and car) crashes and points of traffic law. I got into this area of work when I trained a specialist Barrister who was struggling to deal with a client who had been involved in a bad bike crash, and i gace him the expert evidence he needed to win the case. At that time, there was no one outside the Police service who could provide that level of expert evidence of opinion, and things grew from there so to speak.

If you ever come across the case of Kevin Finnis, I was the expert in that case, and it is still the most reported motorcycle accident case in UK legal history, and I am currently working on the investigation of a 40 year old case (happened in 1970/71) and I am told is the oldest active crash investigation ever, but which is proving to be interesting.

I was also until recently one of 2 members of the Law Society panel of expert witnesses specialising in motorcycle crashes.

I am also a qualified advanced riding and driving examiner, CBT and DAS qualified instructor (although no longer active teaching learners), I wrote, set up and ran the RoSPA diploma for advanced motorcycle isntructors for many years, and I sit on various Governement committess such as Roadsafe (driving for better business). I am a subject matter expert for the DVLA and am one of those who prepare theory test questions for the motorcycle element of the theory test.

I am also regarded as an expert on the clothing area and act as a consultant to a number of manufacturers, and I have about 10,000 case studies where I have looked at how bike kit has behaved (or not behaved) in crashes.

I have a few other featheres in my cap, but I guess most of you must all be bored already listening to me blow my trumpet

But Remal made me do it ;)

Welcome to the forum TC, it would very much appear that you are indeed the Top Cat with all those qualifications to your credit and a wealth of information which I suspect will come in very useful for some but hopefully not me?......accident advice that is. It's reasuring that we have someone on the forum with that kind of knowledge and expertise, once again welcome and enjoy the site.
