    A few comments.....

    • there are more people alive now than there were at the start of this "deadly" global pandemic
    • most "cases" have to have a test before they even know that they have got it
    • usually things are the other way round - doctor - I feel ill - tests followed by the diagnosis that you are ill because of X
    • with Covid - mostly it runs the opposite - I feel fine, but the doctor takes a blood sample and looks for minuscule traces of the RNA (multiplies that by 35 cycles) and then declares you ill.
    • the Pfizer vaccine has been through trials and the Government is ready to deploy, while the Wittys and fellow bureaucrats of this world would still be testing this in 10 years time.

I read today that this has been turned into another culture war magnified by the usual mainstream hysteria generators that call themselves the mainstream media.

Take the "pill" and move on.

I would rather take my chances than the "pill " If it stopped you catching covid, I may have had it, but as it is the vaccine makes little difference to the fit and healthy ( other than the possible side effects )

@Jez - I get where you are coming from, you are by no means alone in that !

Personally I am not afraid of COVID or the vaccine.

Perhaps I should declare that where I live might be the reason for a different attitude to yours.

Here everything is 100% normal - no masks - no distancing - everything open - pubs - shops. I cannot remember the last time I saw someone wearing a mask.

The only difference is that the Island borders are closed, so you can leave, but anyone coming to the Island on the few flights have to self isolate for two weeks.

People do this and they stay home when they return - working from home even. Breach this two weeks isolation and you face a big fine up to £10,000. The Island is small enough and the volume of traffic low enough that the authorities can stay on top of it.

I have seen people getting caught breaking the 2 week isolation and put in front of the Magistrate and I have seen fines of £4-5-6-10,000 handed down.

Dura Lex, Sed Lex, as they say ( I had to look it up as well !)

For me then the vaccine offers a chance to be able to get off the Rock and go to the UK and return without 2 weeks isolation - maybe. I will be able to say that I have been vaccinated and maybe that will help with getting on and off the Island.

So lets get it on - go to one of the mass vaccination stations - it will be a laugh !
    (edit typo)

As this vaccine does not stop you catching or passing it on, I find it hard to see why you would now be able not to isolate

Being vulnerable for a number of reasons (Over 60, knackered heart and diabetic) I will take the vaccine.

There has been so much misinformation spread, that I wil trust my own instinct rather than the left wing snowflake retards who think they know better.

And if its good enough for the Queen....... (who confirmed today she will be given the vaccine as well)

That was interesting. I like that they answered one of the complaints (conspiracy theories :D) that I have read about - namely that the proteins in the human placenta could be attacked as they are the same as those being targeted by the vaccine (somehow). They seem to have dismissed that !

Is that old lady that took the vaccine today still going strong ? told you it was safe, now where's that DDT gone......:D

I think we are going to be voluntary forced into having it if we want a normal life again, no travel without proof etc etc. Personally I’m not fussed but I don’t believe all is as it seems...

The American Institute For Economic Research

You should really read this. Not so much about the vaccine as the story of how we ended up in lockdown hell. Mostly the fault of the incompetence of "experts" compounded by the incompetence of bureaucrats and politicians.

    And here we all are.

I’m not reading that shite, they’re fucking idiots. An organisation that *still* reckons, after all this time, that climate change is manageable and herd immunity is the way to go with COVID despite all the deaths is one that should definitely be ringing your alarm bells. Christ.

The Lancet has said its worry is when people have the vaccine they suddenly think the pandemic is over, These people now become Super spreaders, not realising they will still catch it and pass it on, why do you think the Gov has not mentioned anything about a vaccine passport, the Lancet is a recognised institution

When hospitals are turning people away over 65 like Italy, this needs managing, It is just a numbers game until you are in the 0.1% or suffering long covid. when you buy you lottery ticket and find you have more chance of dying with covid than winning, it makes you think

Good to see some awareness of Long Covid. I caught it March 13th this year, am still completely fucked and unable to work a normal day or exercise at all. I can ride the bike as long as it’s a ‘good’ day and it’s a short ride. I’ll still be laid up in bed the day after though. Recent ONS figures put risk of Long Covid at 1 in 10 if you get infected. Those are not good odds when it involves writing off a year of your life (and counting), and we’ve still got no idea about treatment or recovery.
