Great thread this. Love seeing how the bike is evolving into a carbon masterpiece. I'm looking for a carbon supplier but I want a matte finish, everything for the Honda seems to be gloss. Can't decide on a weave either. Twill (I think that's rite) is the thicker weave rite?
Yes twill is the deeper fuzzier looking strands pal, I’ve been picking mine up from various suppliers as a lot are sold out at moment, not seen any Matt finished trims on the pages I’ve been on though I’m afraid bud.
here you go pal, I wanted the yoke protector that goes all the way around as the only ones I could find didn’t go round the forks! The tank protector doesn’t fit later models either as they have 5 bolts so I gave that to a mate but it’s actually good looking carbon effect compared to the hrc tank cap protector I bought later on! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124035881025
I thought the same thing when I bought it, I think that’s why the guy had it garaged most of its life, absolutely minter it is! Won’t be like that whenever I finally get out on it on some dry roads
Finally got the bike out in the sunshine for a quick ride out to bed new bits in, feels a lot smoother on the throttle with the power commander!
One quick thing I had a problem with was the side fairings panel seemed to be unclipped when I got home, I’ve tried adjusting the screws in the belly fairing and pushing it up a tad but there’s nothing to clip in at the side lower fairing at the front? Anything I could do to try and secure it better?
Not completely sure what you mean.......but the belly pan should have 4 fasteners (2 either side) then it clips into the lower fairings on either side at the front directly below the bottom of the radiator with 4 interlocking clips.
yep it’s where the side fairings clip into the belly pan at the bottom pal, one side popped out while I was riding. I’ve clipped it back in but worried it may come out again at speed! Suprised Honda didn’t fit a bolt or a clip down there to secure them!

Probably wasn't quite clipped in properly perhaps then. When its clipped in properly it won't budge. I hope none of your clips have been snapped off
fingers crossed it wasn’t clipped in properly but both tabs are still there ok, gonna double check everything again tomorrow though
Are they oem fairings or Chinese ones? If Chinese ones it might need a bolt putting through the bottom yourself to hold them together. I think @PauloHRC had to do the same with his?
Genuine or Chinese, there is not alot in it to be fair. But if you have snapped one of the clips where the lower fairing meets the belly pan, drill a hole through the two sections and secure with a push pin for piece of mind!
Yeah, that was on my 2009 blade but the idea is the same.....use a push pin to hold two parts together! Easy and subtle fix
