cheers buddy, no I’m in Manchester but the guy I bought it from bought it from
Vertu Honda, when I first seen it I thought it had just had a set of chinese fairings thrown on it then he told me vertu had 5 commissioned and it was a proper paint job on oem fairings, not sure exactly who did it but I’ve read it’s either racepaint uk or dream machine.
I’ve had another lad who owns one message me a few weeks ago and apparantly there was one for sale not long ago at cmc he said!
I absolutely love it and all I’ve done is add all the little bits and clean every little nut and bolt up so its perfect again.

hi, it was done by Apex Custom paint in Codnor (Derbyshire). The guy who runs it is really really good. I think they got him to do something similar is black and silver in the new blade

that’s brilliant pal, I sent vertu a message today asking who did the paint job as I’m thinking of taking it back to them and having them change the race no on the front, it’s got a clear protection film on the front but then the no is clear lacquered over so not as simple as pulling it off!
    I want either a Marquez 93 or Hayden 69

can I ask anyone in the know does £515 seem a fair price to strip repaint and put new decals on the front headlight fairing?
Apex got back to me and I really do appreciate that they do some really classy jobs but seems a lot of money for a front fairing panel, I was expecting a few hundred quid at most?
I may just put up with the stoner 27 number for now lol

Is that the price for just painting or the cost for them to dismantle the panel off the bike, do the painting and then rebuild it back on the bike?

    Seems expensive to me too.
It's only 1 panel and assuming you're removing it off the bike and dropping it off then yup it's a lot in my book.
I would have thought about £250 to £300 but I'm not in the game just as a punter that's where I would have expected the cost to come back as.

Cheers lads, it’s just to drop the headlight fairing and screen off so I’d have to pull it off myself which isn’t a problem.
What I may do is find another used fairing and get a mate to colour match the Matt black and get a local sign maker to match the decals then get it all clear coated.
Should be less than half at most to do it myself.

cheers bud glad it’s big just me then, I’m not clued up on what motorcycle painters charge etc and I’m not knocking Apex as they’re work looks outstanding so maybe they can charge those prices if they’re in demand.
Just a big too pricey for me though, gutted I can’t take it back to him at that price as they originally painted it all but I’m sure I’ll get a close match to the Matt black and decals are decals so shouldn’t be a big problem!!

he ain’t cheap! I tried to haggle with him twice and he wouldn’t budge.

Does seem expensive for just a front cowl

Definately pricey but as I say not a bad position to be in if you can charge those prices and not need the work!
I’m gonna look for a used fairing and then get my mate to try and match the Matt black.
Another little project on the bike for me lol
I’ve just ordered short asv levers yesterday and waiting for orange dial adjusters to come in do I can get those too as opposed to the standard red ones.

Not done much lately other than fit some stubby asv levers in place of the long ones.
My tank carbon trims came this week but one was damaged, the sellers sending some new ones out and told me to dispose of these so I thought I’d fit them anyway to see his it looks!
Everytime I fit some more carbon though I just see more I need to replace!!!!
