    Hopefully tomorrow Charlie.

I need to download and print the manual. Is it relatively straight forward? Can't wait to try it out

Yes very straight forward mate. You could remove the PAIR system very easily at the same time if you can get hold of some block off plates.

I've seen a few posts about the PAIR system. No benefit to removing it other than weight is there?

It removes clutter from that area, it stops the bike popping on a closed throttle and you need it doing if you intend on getting it on the dyno in the future. All its doing is dumping air into the exhaust to burn off any unspent fumes. The dyno will need that stopping to get a true AFR reading from the exhaust probe.

Maybe just acquaint yourself with the system tomorrow then if you want to remove it in the future you'll know what to expect.

Just incase you didn't know....on the shift rod the top is left hand thread and the bottom is right hand thread. The new shift rod on mine needed one segment removing to get the overall length the same as the original.

Does anyone know why the quickshifter kits seem to all say that the negative must be connected to the battery terminal and not the common earth?

I'm guessing it's to prevent someone choosing their own earth point and choosing a poor earth. Going to the battery removes all doubt for the quickshifter manufacturer. On my QS the way the loom fell for me the earth cable lined up with the battery perfectly so I hooked it upto that.

Does removal fetch up any fault codes Charlie? I was thinking of just joining the two PAIR covers with a pipe and remove the rest of the system, ,,,,,, I like a bit of closed throttle popping :D

No it won't throw up any codes having it disconnected but by connecting the 2 ports together you won't get the air flow required to feed into the exhaust. Underneath the PAIR ports are reed valves that will need a positive flow of air (from the airbox) to open them up. If you disconnect the supply of air from the airbox you are effectively doing the block off mod.

Surprised you didn't get fed up with all the clutter and bin it off when you had your rocker cover off the other day! :)

Thanks fore that, you've probably saved me a few minutes of head scratching, swearing and questioning how a gear shifter bolt can be seized! :D

Looks like a serious operation Mark!
